TRIAWATCH uses flying drones to detect water quality (including cyanobacteria) with cameras. In addition to flying drones, we will also deploy an underwater drone. This underwater drone will map the macrophytes. This is necessary to protect participants against swimmers itch. We will also ask swimmers and spectators about their impression of the water quality and explain the importance of water quality and what they can do themselves to improve it. With TRIAWATCH we hope to develop a good measurement protocol for future triathlons so that participants are well protected.
