Análisis de acción del viento sobre los heliostatos de un horno solar para aplicaciones mineras en la Puna argentina ; Action of the wind on the solar furnace`s heliostats for mining applications in the Argentine Puna

Abstract

; A solar furnace system with heliostats is proposed for a mining application located in the Argentine Puna. One of the characteristics of the local climate is the occurrence of high-speed wind gusts that put the structures of the solar energy equipment at risk. Therefore, structural analysis of heliostats against the action of the wind is proposed. This paper presents the study of estimation of critical wind gusts through statistical treatment, the determination of its action on buildings according to regulations and the structural analysis of a new reflector design. The maximum time during which the equipment would be in the backup position was defined, that is, out of operation. Structural verification was carried out for a range of speeds based on critical wind gusts and probability distribution of annual occurrence of wind speeds. ; Asociación Argentina de Energías Renovables y Medio Ambiente (ASADES)
