Abstract
がん抑制遺伝子産物p53は「the guardian of the genome: ゲノムの守護神」として生体を癌から防ぐという機能以外にも,多種多様な生体ストレスに対する応答と細胞の恒常性維持に働くことから「cellular gatekeeper: 細胞の番人」とも称されている。癌細胞でのWarburg効果に関連した解糖系の制御機能だけでなく,肥満や糖尿病,動脈硬化や心不全などの病態におけるp53の役割も報告されている。癌と生活習慣病を結び付ける分子病態の根底に存在するメカニズムが注目を集める中で,細胞レベルでのエネルギー・代謝調節機構が明らかにされつつある。
