PREDICTORS OF ASSERTIVENESS IN UNIVERSITY STUDENTS

Abstract

Bu araştırmada aile, arkadaş ve özel insandan algılanan sosyal destek değişkenlerinin üniversite öğrencilerinin güvengenlik düzeylerini ne derecede yordadığı incelenmiştir. Araştırma grubunu 2014-2015 öğretim yılında Erzincan Üniversitesinin farklı fakültelerinde öğrenim gören 243(%44,7) kız, 301(%55,3) erkek olmak üzere toplam 544 öğrenciden oluşturmuştur. Veri toplama araçları olarak Voltan-Acar Kendini Belirleme Ölçeği (2007), Çok Boyutlu Algılanan Sosyal Destek Ölçeği (Eker, Arkar ve Yaldız; 2001) ve araştırma kapsamında geliştirilen Kişisel Bilgi Formu kullanılmıştır. Araştırmada elde edilen veriler çoklu regrasyon analizinden adımsal (stepwise) regresyon analizi yöntemi ile incelenmiştir. Araştırma bulgularına göre, aile, arkadaş ve özel insandan algılanan sosyal destek değişkenleri güvengenliği anlamlı düzeyde yordamaktadır. Abstract The aim of this research is to examine to what extent variables of perceived social support from family, friends and special people predict university students’ assertiveness level. The study group of the study consists 544 students studying in different faculties of Erzincan University in 2014-2015 academic year 243 (44.7%) of which were female and 301 (55.3%) of which consisted men. As data collection tools Voltan-Acar Self-Reporting Questionnaire (2007), Multidimensional Perceived Social Support Scale (Eker, Arkar ve Yaldız; 2001) and Personal Information Form which was developed for the study were used. The data obtained in the study were analyzed by stepwise regression analysis which is multiple regression analysis. According to the findings variables of perceived social support from family, friends and special people significantly predict university students’ assertiveness levels.
