Abstract
Smart Grid holds the promise of engaging end users in the energy market and operations - both in terms of reacting to energy prices intelligently and in terms of providing ancillary services to the markets. Demand response becomes “Dispatchable Demand Response” (DDR) and AMI enabled real time pricing becomes “Dynamic Pricing” (DP) implying that end use appliances and other consumptions can see day ahead, hour ahead, and intra hour prices and react to them.
