Abstract
This paper presents an unobtrusive device that can detect power cut in a system and a web-based application for real-time power outage details. The system uses sensor data to report power outage in a specific area and the result is displayed in the web-based application. Due to long distance communication and limitations of cable transmission, Internet of Things (IoT) has been used for sending the data directly to the cloud. In the experimental setup, the efficiency of the device in power monitoring is 96%.
