FINITE VOLUME METHOD FOR COMPUTATIONAL SIMULATIONS
Authors: García Gavilánez, Robinson José;

Abstract

The article seeks to explain how the use of the finite volume method in the discretization of differential equations involved in the modeling of thermal systems is applied in computational simulation programs (CFD). These technological packages have the capability to model complex geometries and heat transfer phenomena, evaluating the interactions between materials to improve thermal efficiency. The results obtained by varying the thickness of the absorber plate and adding reflective devices increase the system's heat absorption capacity, helping the fluid to raise its temperature and enhancing the overall system performance. Computational simulations are highly useful for simulating hypothetical operational environments, allowing cost savings by avoiding construction
