Exploratory analysis of marine electrification potentials of vessels in the Spanish sea
This thesis contributes to the ongoing investigations towards electrifying passenger ferries in Spain and reducing greenhouse gas emissions. It identifies the most suitable vessels trajectories of local transport for the battery electric propulsion model, emphasizing the need for route optimization and detailed feasibility studies. By electrifying passenger ferries, Spain can play a significant role in achieving a sustainable and decarbonized transportation system while providing efficient and environmentally friendly maritime transport options for its passengers.
