The city has evolved rapidly adopting a model based on the consumption of resources, devouring energy, water and materials and expelling large amounts of waste. It has invaded and destroyed the environment, corrupting neighboring municipalities, in addition to reducing the quality of life of citizens and contributing to the advancement of climate change and the expansion of the ecological footprint. We can not escape the challenge of the responsibility to provide an adequate response. A response that is not immediate. It requires a process of reflection, approximation and progressive change. One of the main current challenges is to think about new strategies that allow territorial urban models to be more compatible with the environment. The eco-neighborhood pursue the principles of efficiency, equality and variety that are configured in an urban development. They try to make compatible a good quality of urban life with the substantial decrease of the environmental impact of our cities and town.
