Abstract

[ES] En este trabajo se pretende estudiar la posible sustitución de algunas rutas aéreas en España, y los vuelos domésticos que transitan por ellas, por trayectos en tren debido a su menor contaminación. Cabe destacar que la investigación realizada no tiene en cuenta las islas Baleares ni las islas Canarias, ya que no se pueden realizar rutas ferroviarias y por ello el estudio está enfocado únicamente en la península. Para este estudio se deben tener en cuenta una gran cantidad de factores tales como la conexión entre viajes, el tiempo requerido en el trayecto, la infraestructura necesaria o las leyes y objetivos medioambientales que deben cumplirse. Como resultado del trabajo realizado y teniendo en cuenta entre los factores mencionados la contaminación como el más importante, se han identificado como posibles rutas sustituibles las rutas de Madrid-Valencia y Madrid-Alicante, debido a su menor contaminación y su similitud en cuanto a pasajeros transportados, duración y distancia. En el Anexo I al final de este documento se exponen las medidas del Objetivo de Desarrollo Sostenible (ODS) que tienen relación con la realización de este trabajo. Estos son los ODS: 3, 8, 9, 11, 13 y 17. Entre ellos destacan el reducir el número de muertes por enfermedades relacionadas con la contaminación del aire; promover políticas para desarrollar la creación de empresas que, en este caso en particular, desarrollen la infraestructura del norte de España; desarrollar y modernizar una infraestructura de calidad, sostenible y eficiente; integrar medidas contra el cambio climático y mejorar las políticas para el desarrollo sostenible.

[EN] This work aims to study the possible replacement of some air routes in Spain, and the domestic flights that transit through them, by train routes due to their lower pollution. It should be noted that the research carried out does not take into account the Balearic Islands or the Canary Islands, since rail routes cannot be made and therefore the study is focused solely on the peninsula. For this study, a large number of factors must be taken into account, such as the connection between trips, the time required for the journey, the necessary infrastructure or the environmental laws and objectives that must be met. As a result of the work carried out and taking into account pollution as the most important among the factors mentioned, the Madrid-Valencia and Madrid-Alicante routes have been identified as possible replaceable routes, due to their lower pollution and their similarity in terms of passengers transported, duration and distance. Annex I at the end of this document sets out the Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) measures that are related to the realization of this work. These are the SDGs: 3, 8, 9, 11, 13 and 17. These include reducing the number of deaths from diseases related to air pollution; promoting policies to develop the creation of companies that, in this particular case, develop the infrastructure of northern Spain; developing and modernizing quality, sustainable and efficient infrastructure; integrating measures against climate change and improving policies for sustainable development.
