Impacto del cambio climático sobre la cadena de valor del café en el Perú

El cambio climático está afectando la cadena de valor del café peruano. Los cambios en los patrones de lluvias y las variaciones de temperatura reducen la productividad del cultivo y merman su calidad. El presente estudio estima que entre 13% y 40% del área cafetalera del nororiente dejarán de tener aptitud para el café, estas zonas deberán desarrollar estrategias y acciones de adaptación que contemplen el cambio de cultivo. Entre 85% y 45% de los productores deberá realizar acciones de adaptación incremental o sistémica que permitan dar sostenibilidad al cultivo, esto incluye fuentes de ingresos adicionales.
