Abstract

The projected changes in temperature and precipitation, for the next 80 years in the Arctic System, are shown. We used the NEX-GDDP high resolution dataset to compute the differences between the multi-model ensembles of the two prospective scenarios (RCP 4.5 and RCP 8.5) and the retrospective baseline scenario. This study highlighted the Arctic System as a key element in the terrestrial balance, as future greenhouse gas concentrations will have great impacts in the distribution of temperature and precipitation in the Arctic System, with implications of processes at the global scale to regional and local ones.
