Abstract

El gobierno colombiano aprobó en mayo de 2014 la Ley 1715, en la cual se promueve el “desarrollo y utilización de las fuentes no convencionales de energía (FNCE) en el sistema energético nacional, principalmente aquellas que son de carácter renovable. La marcada necesidad de integrar las FNCE al sistema energético nacional hace necesaria la cuantificación y caracterización de la radiación incidente en la zona norte de Colombia, específicamente en el departamento de La Guajira, lo que conllevó a un estudio más específico donde se evaluaron distintas variables de tipo geométrico, geográfico, astronómico, físico y meteorológico. Este trabajo presenta un análisis de la cuantificación y caracterización de la radiación solar a partir del estudio de datos meteorológicos suministrados por el Instituto de Hidrología, Meteorología y Estudios Ambientales de Colombia (IDEAM) de distintas estaciones ubicadas en el departamento de La Guajira con registros climáticos de más de cinco años y evaluados a través del modelo de Bird y Hulstrom. A partir de los resultados arrojados por este estudio, se identificaron las zonas del departamento que presentan mayor potencial para el desarrollo de diferentes tecnologías solares. ; The Colombian government approved in May 2014 Law 1715, which promotes the “development and use of non-conventional energy sources (FNCE) in the national energy system, mainly those that are renewable.
