Abstract

Vengono presentati i risultati di una ricerca sperimentale riguardante un motore a due tempi ad a.c. alimentato mediante un sistema di iniezione pneumatica a bassa pressione di particolare semplicità costruttiva. Peculiarità della soluzione è l’assenza di compressori ausiliari, in quanto l’aria di iniezione viene fornita dal carter-pompa, del quale viene anche conservata la funzione tradizionale di erogatore dell’aria di lavaggio. Nel prototipo, al solo scopo di facilitare la messa a punto, è stato adottato un sistema elettronico per la dosatura del combustibile, ma quanto prima si passerà ad un carburatore a doppio diaframma. I consumi specifici si sono dimostrati inferiori a quelli dei motori a quattro tempi di analoghe prestazioni ai carichi ridotti ed equivalenti a pieno carico, mentre le emissioni di idrocarburi incombusti si sono mantenute più vicine ai valori tipici dei quattro tempi che a quelli dei due tempi.
