A New Major in Engineering Technology with Concentrations in Sustainable Energy, Advanced Manufacturing, and Semiconductor Materials.

Abstract

The Department of Physics, in collaboration with the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry and the Department of Earth Sciences, is [proposing to create a program in Engineering Technology. The proposed B.S. Engineering Technology degree will target students who want to pursue engineering and are looking for a school that offers a dedicated program. We believe the specializations in Sustainable Energy, Advanced Manufacturing and Semiconductor Materials will appeal to students interested in creating a more sustainable world and address the need for a technologically trained workforce in Upstate New York. Upon graduation of the inaugural class, accreitation for the program will be sought from the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET). ; Monier, Eric Undergraduate Curriculum and Policies
