Abstract

Microgrids for energy communities are born as a model of citizen participation in the energy system, with the main function of using renewable energy through collective generation plants for shared consumption. These communities can carry out multiple activities such as producing, consuming, storing or sharing energy. It not only makes it easier for a certain group to benefit from the same local electricity generation facilities, it also brings environmental and economic benefits, such as improving energy efficiency, reducing carbon dioxide emissions and generating income. In this document, a microgrid with photovoltaic generation of 17,6 kWp of power for an energy community located in Barcelona, with grid connection and possible storage, has been selected as a subject of study. The study goes from the steps to follow for the creation of an energy community within the legal framework, to the main design, dimensioning and verification of the installation itself. It is proposed as an objective to help enact energy communities through understanding, viability and great profitability.
