Control and load-dispatching strategies for a microgrid with a DC/AC inverter of fixed frequency
Abstract
Abstract In this paper, a load-sharing control scheme is developed and implemented on a laboratory-scale islanded microgrid consisting of an inverter interfaced fuel cell power module and two synchronous generators. Since the frequency of the DC/AC inverter is fixed, a load-voltage control scheme is developed for load-sharing control. Two load-dispatching strategies: (a) Minimal Unit Participation and (b) Base Load Priority, are developed. Their advantages and disadvantages are examined in relation to the efficiency of the power electronic inverter.
