    Simantri atau Sistem Pertanian Terintegrasi merupakan sebuah program Pemerintah Provinsi Bali yang mengintegrasikan kegiatan pertanian dan peternakan. Pengelolaan limbah padat di peternakan sapi Simantri Kecamatan Seririt yakni pengolahan biogas dan pembuatan kompos belum berlangsung optimal. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah menentukan laju timbulan dan komposisi limbah padat peternakan sapi Simantri, mengevaluasi pengelolaan limbah padat eksisting. Tujuan lainnya yaitu menentukan strategi penerapan teknologi pengolahan biogas dan kompos berdasarkan analisis SWOT. Pada penelitian ini dilakukan pengklasifikasian berdasarkan peternakan yang pengolahan biogasnya masih beroperasi, pengolahan komposnya masih beroperasi dan peternakan yang pengolahan biogas dan komposnya tidak beroperasi. Pengukuran laju timbulan limbah padat berdasarkan SNI 19-3964-1994 dan analisis mass balance limbah padat. Instrumen kuisioner digunakan pada penelitian ini untuk mendapatkan informasi pengelolaan limbah padat eksisting, permasalahan, dan penilaian SWOT (Strength, Weakness, Opportunity, dan Threats). Sehingga diperoleh teknologi pengelolaan limbah padat berbasis 2R yang dapat diterapkan. Total laju timbulan limbah padat peternakan sapi Simantri Kecamatan Seririt yaitu 2371,40 kg/hari dengan komposisi 303,88 kg sisa pakan/hari dan 2067,52 kg kotoran sapi/hari. Peternakan Sapi Simantri Kecamatan Seririt yang masih melakukan pengelolaan limbah padat sebanyak 53,84 % atau 7 peternakan. Sedangkan, yang tidak melakukan pengelolaan limbah padat sebanyak 46,16% atau 6 peternakan. Strategi penerapan teknologi untuk pengolahan limbah padat peternakan dari hasil analisis SWOT yaitu dengan melakukan pengolahan biogas dan pembuatan kompos dengan intensif dan melakukan inovasi dalam teknologi pengolahan biogas dan kompos.

    Suhu permukaan laut dan pH merupakan parameter kualitas air yang memiliki peranan sangat penting untuk kelangsungan budidaya ikan kerapu bebek karena dapat mempengaruhi metabolisme pertumbuhan ikan. Salah satu perairan di Indonesia yang memiliki potensi sebagai lokasi budidaya kerapu bebek adalah Teluk Lampung. Dijelaskan dalam Standart Nasional Indonesia (SNI) 6487.4:2011 tentang “Produksi Pembesaran Ikan Kerapu Bebek di Keramba Jaring Apung (KJA)”, suhu permukaan laut dan pH merupakan parameter yang mempengaruhi kualitas air laut. Dalam penelitian ini, metode yang digunakan untuk menentukan sebaran suhu permukaan laut adalah penginderaan jauh menggunakan citra satelit Landsat-8. Hal ini dikarenakan citra Landsat-8 dapat bekerja pada gelombang tampak (visible spectrum) dimana terdapat kanal– kanal yang dapat digunakan untuk mengekstrak konsentrasi suhu permukaan laut di perairan. Sebaran estimasi suhu permukaan laut di perairan Teluk Lampung ditentukan menggunakan algoritma Syariz [8], sedangkan sebaran konsentrasi pH ditentukan menggunakan metode interpolasi Inverse Distance Weighted (IDW). Kondisi suhu permukaan laut dan pH di perairan Teluk Lampung sudah cukup sesuai dengan batas nilai yang tercantum dalam SNI 6487.4:2011 untuk dijadikan sebagai lokasi budidaya kerapu bebek. Sebaran suhu permukaan laut menunjukkan dominasi nilai 26,05-30,05 ˚C dan pH menunjukkan dominasi nilai 7,000–13,99. Berdasarkan hasil intersect terhadap sebaran suhu permukaan laut dan pH di perairan Teluk Lampung, didapatkan wilayah perairan seluas 85.334,41 ha yang dapat digunakan sebagai lokasi budidaya kerapu bebek.

    Keterbatasan bahan bakar fosil sebagai salah satu sumber energi yang tidak dapat diperbarui di Indonesia menjadikan wacana untuk menciptakan sumber energi alternatif dari bahan baku lain yang jumlahnya masih melimpah dan dapat diperbarui. Salah satu sumber energi alternatif tersebut adalah bahan bakar nabati. Biofuel atau bahan bakar nabati sering disebut energi hijau karena asal-usul dan emisinya bersifat ramah lingkungan dan tidak menyebabkan peningkatan pemanasan global secara signifikan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mempelajari pembuatan biofuel melalui proses hydrocracking minyak kelapa sawit dengan katalis Ni-Mg/γ-Al2O3, mempelajari pengaruh komposisi katalis, waktu, dan suhu terhadap yield biofuel serta mempelajari kondisi operasi terbaik pembuatan biofuel. Penelitian dilakukan dalam tiga tahap yaitu sintesis katalis, karakterisasi katalis, dan proses hydrocracking. Penentuan katalis terbaik melalui proses hydrocracking pada suhu 330oC waktu 60 menit untuk % loading Ni 1%, 5%, 10%, 15%, dan 20% diperoleh katalis Ni-Mg/γ-Al2O3 15% yang menghasilkan yield gasoline tertinggu yaitu 44,819%. Katalis terbaik dikarakterisasi dengan Atomic Absorption Spectroscopy (AAS) dan titrimetri menghasilkan rasio Ni/Mg sebesar 13,5/4,71. Luas permukaan katalis terbaik berdasarkan analisis Brunaur Emmet Teller (BET) yaitu 77.746 m2/g. Katalis Ni-Mg/γ-Al2O3 15% yang menghasilkan yield gasoline tertinggi digunakan untuk proses hydrocracking dengan variasi waktu dan temperatur. Hasil yang diperoleh untuk katalis Ni-Mg/γ-Al2O3 15% yield terbaik fraksi gasoline 46,333% pada suhu 360oC waktu 120 menit, yield terbaik kerosene 39,177% pada suhu 300oC waktu 120 menit, dan yield terbaik solar 63,213% pada suhu 300oC waktu 30 menit.

    Salah satu sumber energi terbarukan yang berpotensi dikembangkan di tanah air ialah etanol. Ethanol memiliki karakteristik yang mirip dengan Premium dengan nilai RON sebesar 108. Dalam penelitian ini, ingin diketahui karakteristik unjuk kerja serta emisi gas buang mesin bensin menggunakan bahan bakar campuran ethanol 99.5% dengan premium setelah uji durability selama 5000 KM. Dalam penelitian ini pula ingin diketahui pengaruh pemakaian campuran ethanol 99.5% dengan premium pada ruang bakar dan minyak pelumas setelah digunakan selama 5000 KM. Pengujian dilakukan dengan uji durability mobil sejauh 5000 km dengan bahan bakar campuran ethanol dan bensin dengan variasi campuran ethanol sebesar 5%, 10%, dan 15%, pengukuran meliputi kandungan minyak pelumas dan visualisasi ruang bakar. Selanjutnya dilakukan pengujian di Laboratorium Teknik Pembakaran dan Bahan Bakar Jurusan Teknik Mesin FTI-ITS dengan menggunakan mesin bensin empat langkah Toyota Vios dengan variasi campuran ethanol sebesar 5%, 10%, dan 15% dengan putaran mesin 3000 hingga 6000 rpm. Pengukuran meliputi torsi, daya, waktu konsumsi bahan bakar, T oli, T radiator, dan T exhaust serta emisi gas HC, CO dan CO2. Hasil uji eksperimental menunjukkan penambahan bioetanol pada bahan bakar bensin premium cenderung meningkatkan densitas dan viskositas tetapi menurunkan nilai kalor. Sedangkan unjuk kerja cenderung mengalami peningkatan performa dan terjadi penurunan emisi. Torsi, daya dan bmep tertinggi didapatkan oleh campuran E10 dengan kenaikan masing-masing sebesar 2,40%, 2,94% dan 2,72% dibandingkan dengan premium. Sedangkan konsumsi bahan bakar spesifik (sfc) terendah didapatkan oleh campuran E10 dengan penurunan sebesar 4,14% dibandingkan dengan premium. Karakteristik minyak pelumas untuk bahan bakar E5, E10 dan E15 relatif stabil seperti bahan bakar premium. Pencampuran bioetanol pada premium cenderung menurunkan suhu operasional mesin, yaitu mencapai 3,02% pada campuaran 15%. Untuk visualisasi ruang bakar pemakaian bahan bakar E5, E10 dan E15 menghasilkan pengotoran relatif lebih tipis dibandingkan bahan bakar premium. Secara akeseluruhan penambahan bioetanol sampai 15% tidak mengalami perubahan pada kondisi operasional mesin.

    Indonesia merupakan sebuah negara kepulauan terbesar di dunia dengan panjang garis pantai mencapai 99.093 kilometer dengan sumber daya ikan yang melimpah. Untuk memaksimalkan hasil tangkapannya, sebagian nelayan di Indonesia menggunakan cahaya untuk mengumpulkan ikan sebelum ditangkap. Salah satu jenis kapal ikan yang memanfaatkan cahaya lampu dalam proses penangkapan ikan adalah kapal purse sein. Pada penggunaan lampu petromaks, cahaya yang dihasilkan lebih redup dan tidak dapat menembus air laut sampai kedalaman 5 meter. Cahaya lampu yang diletakkan di atas permukaan air pun 70%-nya dipantulkan kembali ke atas oleh permukaan air. Untuk mengatasi hal itu, saat ini di pasaran banyak dijual lampu pengumpul ikan yang dicelupkan dalam air. Namun, proses ini beresiko tinggi karena pengaruh angin dan arus laut akan membuat lampu tersebut susah diatur ditempat yang diinginkan. Warna cahaya dari lampu pengumpul ikan yang ada saat ini tidak bisa menarik ikan-ikan yang memiliki jenis kepekaan warna yang berbeda, karena jenis warna dari lampunya hanya satu jenis. Untuk mengatasi masalah tersebut, maka diperlukan sebuah lampu pengumpul ikan yang dapat dikendalikan dari jarak jauh dengan warna cahaya yang beragam. Lampu pengumpul ikan tersebut dapat dikendalikan sampai jarak 120 meter serta dapat mengumpulkan ikan nila dengan penggunaan cahaya warna merah.

    Gelombang laut merupakan pergerakan naik dan turunnya muka air laut yang membentuk lembah dan bukit. Pemanfaatan energi gelombang laut untuk sumber energi alternatif sangat cocok diterapkan di Indonesia, dimana luas lautannya mencapai 2/3 dari keseluruhan luas Indonesia. Salah satu cara memanfaatkan energi gelombang laut adalah untuk menghasilkan listrik, atau yang biasa disebut pembangkit listrik tenaga gelombang laut (PLTGL). Pada penelitian ini akan dibuat simulasi mekanisme PLTGA tipe pelampung silinder dengan cantilever piezoelectric sebagai pengkonversi energi mekanik dari gearbox menjadi energi listrik. Cantilever piezoelectric material merupakan material yang memiliki kemampuan untuk membangkitkan potensial listrik sebagai respon dari tegangan mekanik yang diberikan pada material tersebut. Blade akan dipasang pada poros keluaran dari gearbox. Blade inilah yang nantinya akan memukul cantilever piezoelectric sehingga menyebabkan cantilever piezoelectric mengalami defleksi. Defleksi dari cantilever piezoelectric inilah yang menimbulkan voltase atau energi listrik pada cantilever piezoelectric. Variasi yang digunakan untuk mengetahui energi bangkitan optimum yang akan dihasilkan oleh mekanisme ini berupa frekuensi gelombang laut (1Hz, 2Hz, dan 3Hz), dan jumlah cantilever piezoelectric ( 1, 3, dan 5). Didapatkan hasil simulasi berupa grafik respon perpindahan cantilever piezoelectric dan voltase terhadap fungsi frekuensi gelombang laut dan grafik respon perpindahan cantilever piezoelectric dan voltase terhadap fungsi jumlah cantilever piezoelectric. Dari hasil simulasi didapatkan nilai daya bangkitan maksimal yang dihasilkan 4.92E-06 Watt dengan menggunakan 5 cantilever piezoelectric pada frekuensi 1Hz

    Perkembangan ilmu pengetahuan dan teknologi membawa pengaruh akan meningkatnya kebutuhan akan daya listrik, namun ketersediaan sumber energi konvensional (fossil) semakin menipis yang tentunya akan berdampak pada tingkat ketahanan listrik. Oleh karenanya diperlukan pembangkit-pembangkit tersebar berskala kecil (microgrid). Pembangkit tersebar ini diupayakan bersumber pada energi terbarukan dengan meminimalkan pemakaian dari sumber energi konvensional serta digunakan energy storage untuk power balance. Oleh karena adanya microgrid ini maka penting untuk menentukan besarnya pembangkitan daya listrik yang optimal dari masing-masing pembangkit dan kapasitas optimal energy storage sehingga kebutuhan daya listrik dapat dipenuhi dengan biaya yang optimal. Pada penelitian ini dilakukan analisis mengenai economic dispatch di dalam pengoperasian sistem kelistrikan microgrid dengan energy storage. Algoritma APSO digunakan untuk memecahkan masalah minimalisasi total biaya sistem. Simulasi komputer menggunakan Matlab dilakukan untuk menunjukkan efektivitas dari metodologi yang diusulkan dan dampak dari harga dan sistem penyimpanan pada economic dispatch. Hasil simulasi menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan metode APSO untuk ED pada sistem kelistrikan microgrid memiliki performa kecepatan konvergensi yang lebih baik dibanding metode PSO dan dengan pemanfaatan energy storage pada sistem memberikan dampak penghematan biaya operasi.

    Biodiesel merupakan salah satu energi alternatif pengganti bahan bakar fosil dari hasil reaksi transesterifikasi minyak nabati dengan metanol. Proses pembuatan biodiesel selama ini menggunakan katalis homogen NaOH atau KOH yang memiliki kelemahan terbentuknya produk samping berupa sabun dan rumitnya pemisahan produk biodiesel dengan katalis. Maka dari itu, mulai dikembangkan penggunaan katalis heterogen untuk menggantikan penggunaan katalis homogen. Penelitian ini mengembangkan katalis CaO/KIγ-Al2O3­. Pembuatan katalis melalui metode presipitasi CaO pada γ-Al2O3 serta asam asetat sebagai larutan precursor selama 3 jam lalu impregnasi KI selama 3 jam. Kemudian, dioven selama 12 jam pada suhu 110oC dan dikalsinasi pada suhu 650oC selama 4,5 jam. Katalis yang diperoleh digunakan untuk membantu proses transesterifikasi biodiesel dengan variable massa katalis, rasio molar minyak dan metanol, dan suhu. Dari hasil penelitian didapatkan bahwa biodiesel dapat diproduksi melalui reaksi transesterifikasi menggunakan katalis CaO/KI/γ-Al2O3­ dalam reaktor fluidized bed. Kemurnian tertinggi dari biodiesel yang didapatkan yaitu sebesar 99,17%.     Pada sistem mesh yang terkoneksi dengan pembangkit tersebar (Distributed Generation), terdapat kondisi dimana topologi jaringan yang berubah-ubah. Hal tersebut disebabkan oleh waktu operasi dari pembangkit tersebar yang bersifat temporary dan random. Kondisi ini dapat dibedakan yaitu terhubung dengan grid, terhubung grid dan DG1, terhubung grid dan DG2, dan terhubung grid dengan DG1 dan DG2. Akibat topologi jaringan yang berubah-ubah, menyebabkan peningkatan dan penurunan level arus hubung singkat sehingga seting dan koordinasi proteksi awal menjadi tidak efektif dan efisien lagi terhadap konfigurasi jaringan yang ada. Oleh karena itu dibutuhkan sistem proteksi yang setingnya dapat menyesuaikan dengan topologi jaringan yang berubah-ubah. Pada tugas akhir ini akan dirancang koordinasi sistem proteksi rele arah arus lebih yang dapat mengikuti setiap perubahan kondisi pada topologi jaringan tersebut menggunakan metoda Artificial Neural Network dengan desain plant berbentuk mesh yang terhubung dengan Grid dan DG. Hasil perancangan menunjukan bahwa penggunaan metoda Artificial Neural Network dapat menghasilkan setingan rele yang adaptif mengikuti perubahan topologi sistem. Dan metoda artificial neural network juga dapat memprediksi setingan rele pada saat terjadi gangguan yang diluar kondisi yang telah dipelajari dalam data learning.

    Kebutuhan energi semakin lama semakin meningkat dan sumber energi utama yang digunakan saat ini mempunyai keterbatasan untuk memperbaruinya. Photovoltaic adalah komponen semikonduktor yang berfungsi mengkonversi energi matahari menjadi energi listrik. Cahaya matahari yang termasuk sumber energi primer tersedia sepanjang tahun di semua tempat di permukaan bumi. Tingkat penyinaran yang berbeda-beda menyebabkan daya keluaran dari photovoltaic bervariasi. Karakteristik V-I sel surya adalah nonlinier, berubah terhadap intensitas dan temperatur permukaan photovoltaic. Secara umum, terdapat titik yang unik pada kurva V-I atau kurva P-V, yang dinamakan Maximum Power Point (MPP). Titik MPP tersebut tidak diketahui namun dapat dicari dengan algoritma penjejak atau algoritma MPPT. Pada tugas akhir ini dilakukan perancangan penelusuran daya maksimum menggunakan kontrol logika fuzzy. Sistem penelusuran daya maksimum yang menggunakan modul BPSX-60 dapat menghasilkan daya 59,4W pada keadaan standard condition (intensitas 1000W/m2 dan temperatur 250C). Sistem penelusuran daya maksimum pada panel photovoltaic mampu menelusuri daya maksimum dengan kondisi lingkungan (intensitas cahaya matahari dan temperatur pada permukaan panel photovoltaic) yang berubah-ubah.
