description Publicationkeyboard_double_arrow_right Conference object 1993 ItalyAuthors: S. Casadio; DE CLEMENTE, ISABELLA MARIA; VALLETRISCO, MARIA;handle: 11588/475899
The Authors, acknowledging the technological development of wind power machines, analyze the present state of the wind-energy system in Italy. They dwelled in particular on some fields planned and or realized, maily in the South. They point out the competition existing between Italian and foreign industries specializing in the sector, in views of the gradual improvement of energy yield. As a matter of fact, the experiences acquired us to assume that national enterprises are by now able to finalize aerogenerators which are fully comparable with the competition. Howerer, it would be desirable, on the part of the responsible parties that they not only install a more rational planning of the wind power during the next few years, but also, install incentive mechanisms separate for each technology, according to their state of maturity and to their level of introduction on the market.

All the main indicators of state oh health of our Planet’s natural systems show clear worsening elements and, since a great part of environment dangerous emissions is connected with different stages of energy cycle, it is manifest that the energetic political has an essential role to sustainable environment. Energetic field is in a period of transition when renewable energetic sources will have a very important roll but the hydrogen, most plentiful and light element in the Universe, could represent the principal fuel for the XXI century’s economy. Hydrogen’s Era is becoming a reality, with many benefits for pollution, but also with market and technological uncertainties and difficulties.

The growing production needs and the demand for products that are increasingly in line with the needs of an evolving company have led to a progressive increase in the complexity of the reference technology, which is inevitably accompanied by a dramatic increase in the environmental impact and, therefore, the loss of the primitive sustainable nature of the sector. In fact, the transformation of putrescible animal integuments into a stable and versatile material such as leather perhaps represents the first example of enhancing a waste in precious raw material, respecting the principles of what we now call circular economy. The current challenge on the sustainability of the tanning production sector therefore requires a set of actions, including the use of efficient certification systems that induce chemical suppliers, tanneries and waste material treatment companies to create a increasingly transparent production flow. Already today there are several companies that have embarked on a path aimed at building a new market system that focuses on sustainability as added value with the ambitious goal of Zero Discharge of Hazardous Chemicals.
