Natalia Diachenko in OpenAIREThe article presents analysis results in the reconstruction of the tectonic conditions dynamics for the formation of local plicative deformations and rupturing under conditions of the research both the macrostructure and its local separation using the example of the southwestern area of Kalmius-Toretska kettle-hole in the Donetsk basin. Authors applied the scientific cognition method, representing a sequence of actions to establish structural links between variables and constant elements of the Investigational tectonic system, based on statistical and mathematical methods of analysis. The characteristics of the anticlinal structure formation in the studied area - fields of the “Butivska” mine were obtained. It was revealed that the initial horizontal attitude of rocks of the studied area was changed by a monoclinal attitude with a north-western dip and a north-east strike. Afterwards, under the conditions of tectonic near latitudinal compression and near meridional tension, anticlinal folding was formed. Then, under the influence of shear fields when the deformation mode was enhanced, a compression duplex was formed within which local echelon folding and fracture was formed - Oktiabrskyi fault #1.

Souha Sahraoui in OpenAIRERadiation therapy is one of the most widely used methods of treating cancer. One of the therapeutic gains of this method is to save in terms of calculation time during treatment planning, the variance reduction method is one of the most used to reduce the calculation time except that there are other alternatives to be able to optimize as much as possible, hence the interest of this study. In this work, we compared by Monte-Carlo simulation the flattened and unflattened 6 MV photon beams of the VARIAN Clinac 2100 linear accelerator. All the elements of the accelerator were simulated and allowed us to reproduce very close to reality. The doses obtained by simulation were taken in a tank of water under reference conditions, source to surface distance (SSD) of 100 cm, the arm at 0 ° and for a field variation of 2 x 2 cm2, 3 x 3 cm2, 4 x 4 cm2, 5 x 5 cm2, 10 x 10 cm2, 20 x 20 cm2, 30 x 30 cm2, 40 x 40 cm2. For each field, we calculated using a beam with a flattening filter (FF) and another beam with flattening filter-free (FFF). The calculation time of all these simulations was recorded. The results showed that the shape of the dose profiles changes according to the FF and FFF mode with a very interesting change for fields greater than 5 x 5 cm2 and almost similar profiles for the fields 2 x 2 cm2, 3 x 3 cm2, 4 x 4 cm2, 5 x 5cm2. The region between 80% and 100% of doses for beams with FF contributes to dose uniformity while for FFF fields gives the appearance of symmetry of dose distribution for all fields combined. On the depth dose curves (PDD) the dose at the entry into FFF mode was greater than that of FF mode leading to an increase in the influence of photons, the latter thus important on the increase in dose rate. The computation time in FF mode is higher by a proportion factor of 0.85 to 7.36 compared to the FFF mode respectively by going from the field 2 x 2 cm2 to 40 x 40 cm2. This comparison leads to being able to neglect the flattening filter for fields smaller than 5 x 5 cm2 since it has no impact on the processing field but has a great impact on the calculation time and to have a mode without this filter for fields smaller than 5 x 5 cm2 leads to an optimization of the computation time of 1.35 times compared to the FF mode.

It has unique anti-corrosion properties and resistance to high temperatures. In most cases, the processing modes and characteristics of abrasive (diamond) wheels are selected experimentally, since there is no modeling of processing processes in the public domain. The article presents an experimental study of the surface of dissimilar materials under the influence of heat flow from the friction force of grinding wheel grains. The comparison of calculated indicators and the results of laboratory studies is given. It is concluded that the heat flow from the friction forces of the grains on the material does not cause the destruction of the polished surface. It is also shown that the flow density due to varying modes of grinding

Bjarne W. Olesen in OpenAIREThe aim of this study was to determine favorable operation conditions for ceiling panels containing phase change materials (PCM) for cooling applications in office rooms. A recently renovated room in the Technical University of Denmark was used to have realistic boundary conditions. Using TRNSYS 17, the performance of the PCM panels during the cooling season in passive operation, discharge by air, and discharge by water circulation were investigated. A set of simulations were performed during a representative week in the cooling period. The room was simulated with no climatic systems, PCM without active discharge, ventilation during occupied hours only, and PCM with ventilation during occupied hours. Afterwards, two discharge methods were investigated, night ventilation at different flow rates and water circulation in pipes embedded in the panels. A parametric analysis was performed to identify the influence of operation factors in the thermal environment of the room. The parameters studied were the water flow rate, supply water temperature and circulation schedule as well as the conductivity of the PCM. After selecting different operating conditions of the water discharge, simulations were performed from May to October to observe the performance of the selected operation conditions. The results show that the PCM is more effective to provide adequate indoor thermal conditions if it is discharged actively by means of water. The parameters that affect the thermal indoor environment the most are the water circulation schedule, the water supply temperature, and the PCM thermal conductivity. The water flow rate did not have a significant influence. The study shows the importance of selecting an appropriate operation and control strategy for the PCM system. The process used in the study can be potentially used as a procedure for the design of similar climatic systems to determine if active discharge of the PCM is needed and if yes, which discharge method is needed.

Tatyana Sinyukova in OpenAIREAt metallurgical enterprises, slab transfer devices are widely used, the principle of operation of which is to lift slabs in the steel casting area and transport them to the storage area. The article considers the existing control system of the slab transfer device. At the moment, the mechanism has a DC motor controlled by a thyristor Converter. This system is difficult to maintain and has a large size. As an upgrade, the installation of an asynchronous motor with a frequency Converter is proposed. In the Matlab environment, mathematical models of single-circuit and double-circuit DC motor control systems and a model of asynchronous motor with a short-circuited rotor have been developed. A vector control system is used as an AC motor control system. As a result of simulation performed analysis of the characteristics. As an optimization of the system with vector control, in order to reduce dynamic loads on the turntable, it is proposed to introduce an intensity setter into the system, the use of which provides the necessary restriction of accelerations and jerks, reduces shock loads on the mechanical components of the electric drive, including a reduction in the load on the turntable when lowering the slab.
