Acharya; A. Shil; C. Debbarma; J. Reang; R. Chakraborty; A. Ghosh;Rapid declination of fossil fuel and environmental pollution is a matter of concern for modern society. A substantial part of these fuels is used for generation of power. Thus, conservation of electricity can slow down the decaying of these fuels, expenditure of money and environmental pollution. Educational institutes are one of the leading consumers of power. There are a lot of opportunities by which electricity in institutes can be preserved. This study explores and analyzes building-wise and equipment-wise energy consumption during the summer season in a typical institute located in the north-eastern part of India. The possibilities of curbing electricity, money, fossil fuel and the emission of greenhouse gas have also been investigated in the paper. It has emerged from the result that electric fans and lighting arrangements draw maximum electricity in summer. They devour 72.99% of the total energy used in the institute. Adoption of some simple methods for energy conservation can save 13,779.60 kWh of electricity and 35.39% of its bill per month. Thus, 3030.91 kg of natural gas can be retained and consequently, 15,114.88 kg of greenhouse gas can be prevented from emission.

Besides, it is essential to use a hands-on method based on a simulation laboratory environment. This method offers a simple and more affordable solution for creating security labs where everyone can trial with attack and defense techniques. We can use them in budget-friendly lab-based institutions. Cisco Packet Tracer (CPT) is a training simulation tool designed to create and test network architecture. The objective is to utilize CPT more readily to comprehend firewalls’ fundamental ideas in a virtual research facility. This paper additionally talks about the effect of offering CPT to the understudies and the teachers’ suppositions on the instrument. Utilizing the device was found to assist understudies with seeing teaching aids simpler at a cost-efficiency yet influenced the measure of teaching aid that could be secured and handed with a teacher. This article will see LANs set up in different LABs of educational organization and its firewall settings to see the various challenges we face providing firewall settings to the LAN.

In the educational domain, when a research scholar submits a dissertation, then it has to be indexed and classified. The number of dissertations that are submitted in an educational institute is usually high and if done manually, it becomes difficult to index and classify correctly. This study applies machine learning techniques to automate the indexing and categorization of dissertations. We have focused on dissertations from the Engineering, Medical, Social Science, and General Science fields. We used the Bag of Words (BoW) method to extract features and K-means, Density-based spatial clustering of applications with noise (DBSCAN) and Expectation-Maximisation (EM) to train our model. Our experimental results reveal that the proposed K- means technique for indexing and categorization leads to higher accuracy and significant reduction in negative predictions as compared to DBSCAN and Expectation-Maximisation (EM).

If an educational institution adopted e-learning as a new strategy, it should undertake a preliminary evaluation to determine the percentage of success and areas of weakness of this strategy. If this evaluation is done manually, it would not be an easy task to do and would not provide knowledge about all pitfall symptoms. The proposed DSS is based on exploration (mining) of knowledge from large amounts of data yielded from the operating the institution to its business. This knowledge can be used to guide and optimize any new business strategy implemented by the institution. The proposed DSS involves Database engine, Data Mining engine and Artificial Intelligence engine. All these engines work together in order to extract the knowledge necessary to improve the effectiveness of any strategy, including e-learning
