Coastal zone is very vulnerable to the impacts of climate change. The increase of sea wave and sea level rise threaten coastal zone. The purpose of this study is to determine trends of significant wave height and sea level in the southern waters of the special region of Yogyakarta. The data used consists of daily significant wave height from 2010-2018, weekly absolute dynamics topography from 2005-2018 and daily surface wind from 2010-2018. Trends of significant wave height and sea level were analyzed by using linear regression. The results showed that significant wave height during the east season until the second transition season was higher than the west season and the first transition season. Vice versa, sea level during the east season until the second transition season was lower than the west season and the first transition season. Trends of significant wave height has increased of 0.63 cm/year, meanwhile sea level rise reached 0.82 cm/years.

Romanian aquaculture can be economically sustainable and viable if the farm is profitable, the farm's income is secure, and the products are accepted by customers. In many cases, improving environmental sustainability can lead to optimizing economic sustainability. For example, a more efficient use of food and nutrients or reduced water and energy consumption are not only beneficial for the environment, but can also reduce costs. Growth in polyculture system, which represents the growth of several species of fish in the same space (pond, pool, basin, etc.), and diversification of supply can increase consumer confidence and thus economic sustainability. The diet must provide the fish with the nutrients necessary for growth (proteins with a plastic role) and provide the energy necessary for physiological processes. Quality food ensures good development, facilitates reproduction and prevents extremely harmful diseases in an aquaculture system. The paper presents a series of experimental recipes for pelletized feed made using an experimental model of small capacity. Nutrient pellets made for feeding fish from the Cyprinid family were analyzed in terms of gross energy value, ash content, moisture, mechanical durability over time, bulk density etc.

Over the past 10 years, more than 300 trillion kg of carbon dioxide (CO2) have been emitted into the atmosphere, deemed responsible for climate change. The capture and storage of CO2 has been therefore attracting research interests globally. CO2 injection in submarine sediments can provide a way of CO2 sequestration as solid hydrates in sediments by reacting with pore water. However, CO2 hydrate formation may occur relatively fast, resulting decreasing CO2 injectivity. In response, nitrogen (N2) addition has been suggested to prevent potential blockage through slower CO2-N2 hydrate formation process. Although there have been studies to explore this technique in methane hydrate recovery, little attention is paid to CO2 storage efficiency and geomechanical responses of host marine sediments. To better understand carbon sequestration efficiency via hydrate formation and related sediment geomechanical behaviour, this study presents numerical simulations for single well injection of pure CO2 and CO2-N2 mixture into submarine sediments. The results show that CO2-N2 mixture injection improves the efficiency of CO2 storage while maintaining relatively small deformation, which highlights the importance of injectivity and hydrate formation rate for CO2 storage as solid hydrates in submarine sediments.

Geosynthetics are well known for substituting mineral filter layers for revetments. Apart from this established and common application they offer more specific and technical solutions for coastal and inland water structures. Typical hydraulic constructions like breakwaters and dikes can be strengthened and optimised using geotextiles or geosystems (bags, tubes, etc.). Till today the potential of geosynthetics for civil works in the marine environment is underestimated. Furthermore, the awareness by designers, construction companies and project owners for geotextile alternatives, saving time, money and enhancing the carbon footprint, can be substantially increased. Main reasons for the ignorance are missing design guidelines and a not existing general overview of their applicability in coastal zones and inland waters. This paper is intended as a first step towards a holistic approach to geosynthetics in hydraulics.

Tin mining in Mentok coastal area, West Bangka Regency has been the ironic view in the middle of local government effort to progress its territory, including the effort to develop tourism and marine sector. When there are many areas in Bangka Island flare up to refuse the presence of Production Suction Vessel (KIP/KapalIsapProduksi), people around Mentok coastal area spanning from Rubiah gulf to Kalian peninsula received the present of offshore mining. This paper went deep into why KIP could be accepted by Mentok people. It was designed from qualitative research result exploring data through deep interview technique, observation, and documentation. This study result showed that KIP operation in the area run well either as there was compensation modus distributed to every householder in the coastal area in the form of cash money. Provision of cash was managed in terms of securing production process assisted by the administrator to bridge the interest between businessman and society. Local government as the permission issuer and society who didn‟t give resistance omission sustainability and natural preservation principle; a pragmatic face wrapped with omission principle and justification on the economy aggression.

The world’s coastlines are shaped by mean sea level, wave conditions and storm surge. Climate change driven variations in these environmental forcing’s will inevitably have a profound effect on the coastal zone. They will result in unprecedented coastal recession, threatening billions of dollars worth of coastal developments and infrastructure. Coastal erosion is observed in some locations along Atlantic alluvial plain (Kenitra coastal (Morocco)) and is an important factor to consider for the coastal zone management. Therefore, for coastal recession estimates are obtained via the simple, deterministic method (Bruun rule) especially, that has been widely used over the last 50 years. It is in widespread contemporary use at a global scale both as a management tool and as a scientific concept. We investigated the potential erosion at the site and the result was very important. The result shows a severe erosion of the 21st century.
