Edgar Cáceres Cabana in OpenAIREThe paper represents the analysis, which has helped to establish the usage of gas hydrate technologies in the methane conversion. This gas could be obtained in different ways. Possibilities and sources for the gas obtaining have been demonstrated. Use of other environmentally friendly sources to support operation in such systems in terms of joint energy complex has been considered. The necessary kinetic connections to provide operational sustainability of all the constituents have been given. The approach helps evaluate quantitatively the priority of its physicochemical transformations to obtain gas hydrates artificially. It is possible to transport methane at considerable distances when it is solidified. Actually, in this case there is no necessity to build costly compressor stations and pipelines for its transportation to consumers. The approach is extremely important for mining regions as it helps prolong the operating period and working out of the abandoned and off-balance coal reserves. In this case, it is proposed to apply special gasification technologies tending to maximum methane recovery. The proposed solutions give the possibility to define the trends of our further research. They will be highlighted in the following authors’ studies.

The installation of shading device is used to solar control in building. It has become mandatory for some public buildings due to revised regulations. Generally this device mean is horizontal shading at upper window. Therefore, a design of horizontal shading device which takes into account the energy consumption of the building is required, and indoor environmental problems which may occur due to the installation of them should also be taken into consideration. This research studied to propose a design which takes into account the energy consumption which may occur if the horizontal shading device is installed, and suggest an improved design method of horizontal shading devices on the basis of the analysis of the problems that may occur when they are installed. Consequently, it was confirmed that as the length of the horizontal shading device becomes longer, the incoming daylight is reduced and the indoor intensity of illumination becomes lower, and thus, more lighting energy may be consumed in a room where the shading device is installed than in the one where it is not. Therefore, annual energy consumption was calculated by applying the lighting control and it was found that the total energy consumption decreased as a result of the reduction in energy consumption for air conditioning and fans and further decrease in lighting energy consumption.

To improve environmental safety, it is necessary to study the local environmental and economic system and its main elements in order to improve managerial efficiency. The known approaches to the definition and the features of local environmental and economic system functioning are analyzed in the article. The directions for improving the efficiency of local eco-economic “industrial enterprise-environment” system management were developed on the basis of the synthesis of the study of theoretical developments of domestic and foreign researchers and the analysis of factual data. The work done is of practical importance for large industrial enterprises that exerts a diversified negative impact on the environment for preparing to the efficient sustainable managerial decisionmaking.

Alexandra Ryattel in OpenAIREThe relevance of the presented research is determined by the absence of any generally accepted methodology for assessing the economic results of the implementation of ecological management at the Russian enterprises. The introduction of the environmental management system at the enterprises is due to the demand of the world market, which main prerequisites are the tightening of requirements for goods, caused by the globalization processes by foreign consumers. The authors have defined the types of effects obtained by the industrial enterprise as the result of the implementation of the environmental management system. Three main types of effects were analyzed: social, economic, ecological. The research assessed the existing methods of calculating the economic efficiency of environmental measures and determined the possibility of their application for calculating the economic efficiency of the implementation of the environmental management system at the industrial enterprise. The author ’s hypothesis on the existence of an image component of the economic effect in the implementation of the environmental management system at the enterprise is proposed. Prerequisites for implementation of environmental management are considered and comparative analysis of environmental management and environmental control is carried out. The model of the system of implementation and confirmation of environmental management is proposed.

Virendra Bhojwani in OpenAIREEvaporative cooling is one of the techniques to lower the ambient air temperature according to the requirements. The technique includes the injection of moisture in the coming air, thus increasing its specific humidity. This technique can cool the air up to wet bulb temperature of the incoming air. In the recent past, the techniques are developed to lower the temperature of air without addition of moisture in the incoming air. These techniques demonstrate that the incoming air temperature can be approached near the dew point temperature of the incoming air. The present paper essentially focuses on the recent theoretical and experimental research of dew point evaporative coolers. Different flow configurations of heat exchange mediums, optimization of geometrical parameters, performance parameters (wet bulb and dew point effectiveness), energy efficiency ratio and energy saving potential are the key elements to study the prospects of dew point evaporative coolers over the conventional refrigeration systems operated by mechanical means. Dew point evaporative cooling technology is environmental friendly and has the potential in reducing the impact on earth due to global warming.

For further information contact us at helpdesk@openaire.eudescription Publicationkeyboard_double_arrow_right Article 2021Publisher:EDP Sciences Authors: Mao Xiaohua; In recent years, in order to promote the independent development of the new energy vehicle industry, Chinese government has decided to reduce the consumption subsidies for new energy vehicles until the subsidies are completely withdrawn. The reduction of consumption subsidy has a great impact on the production and sales of new energy vehicles in the whole vehicle market. However, does the reduction of this subsidy also have an impact on other enterprises in the new energy vehicles industry chain? This paper tests this problem using data from 2016 to 2018, and finds, through empirical analysis, that during the period of subsidy decline, the profitability of component enterprises is significantly positively correlated with this subsidies, while the r&d investment of enterprises is significantly negatively correlated with this subsidies. The results show that in terms of profitability, the reduction of consumer subsidies not only has an impact on the whole vehicle industry of new energy vehicles, but also has an adverse impact on the core component companies in the industrial chain. However, in terms of r&d, the reduction of subsidies has more negatively strengthened the input and attention of R&D in component companies.

Ari Mukti Wardoyo Adi in OpenAIREBalok River is one of the rivers in the southern part of Belitung Island, which empties into Balok Bay. This bay forms wide and sheltered water in which it is directly connected to the Java Sea. This paper aims to provide an overview of the past maritime relationship pattern along the Balok River and the surrounding waterfront environment. This study examines existing data from archaeological research conducted by South Sumatra Archaeological Research Office and the National Archaeological Research Center from 2011 to 2021. Archaeological remains such as ceramic artifacts from China, Southeast Asia, and Europe showed that these regions had been involved in long-distance international trade networks. Regional contact with outsiders is also proved by findings of pottery shreds such as jug and roof tile fragments that were not produced locally in the Belitung area. Oral history reveals that there was once arouse a kingdom named the Balok Kingdom along this river. This kingdom raised in the sixteenth century. Nevertheless, dwellings from the period before the Balok Kingdom’s existence is unknown. The toponym along the Balok River also indicates topographical features associated with maritime culture, namely Pangkalan. This toponym probably refers to the docks in the past. At this time, places using pangkalan toponyms are still functioned as boat mooring places by Balok Villagers and its surroundings. Balok River is the main route for people to the sea for fishing

One of them is from the oil and gas sector. The process of it production is divided into upstream process which starts from hydrocarbon extraction to become a ready-to-sell product and downstream process comprise of processing to consumer consumption. The research objective of this paper is to find out the upstream process of oil and gas industry as well as the impact that may be caused. The upstream process of the oil and gas industry begins with land clearing, hydrocarbon drilling / extraction from within the earth, feasibility testing, development and production, distribution, storage and distribution possible to the first consumer. From these activities, the impacts are caused by the decrease of air quality mainly due to the burning of flare gas and tool mobilization, the decrease of water quality, and the deterioration of soil quality.
