Methane emissions from aquatic and terrestrial ecosystems play a crucial role in global warming, which is particularly affecting high-latitude ecosystems. As major contributors to methane emissions in natural environments, the microbial communities involved in methane production and oxidation deserve a special attention. Microbial diversity and activity are expected to be strongly affected by the already observed (and further predicted) temperature increase in high-latitude ecosystems, eventually resulting in disrupted feedback methane emissions. The METHANOBASE project has been designed to investigate the intricate relations between microbial diversity and methane emissions in Arctic, Subarctic and Subantarctic ecosystems, under natural (baseline) conditions and in response to simulated temperature increments. We report here a small subunit ribosomal RNA (16S rRNA) analysis of lake, peatland and mineral soil ecosystems.

The mixing included the disturbance of a deep chlorophyll maximum (DCM) which was present at the same time of the experiment in Lake Stechlin and situated in the metalimnion of each enclosure during filling. Copepod and Cladocera biomass was monitored for 42 days after the experimental disturbance event (Utermöhl counting at 60x magnification and biomass calculation from length-dry mass relationships). Sampling was performed using a 90 µm mesh size Apstein-cone. Grab samples were collected from 10 stations in the Pechora Bay from aboard RV Kartesh in 2020-2021. Macrobenthic invertebrates were identified with the maximum level of certainty through optical microscopy using regional taxonomic keys. All taxonomic names were standardised using the World Register of Marine Species (WoRMS). All specimens have been counted and weighted (wet biomass) on Ohaus Adventurer scales with reported accuracy to 0.01 g. Bivalve molluscs and gastropods were weighed in shells. Biomass (g. m-2) and abundance (ind m-2) are used to characterise macrozoobenthos. The sampling and identification work was carried out in collaboration with specialists from Lomonosov Moscow State University Marine Research Center and P.P. Shirshov Institute of Oceanology.

This project compliments CMIP6 data subset and snapshot analyzed for the WGI AR6. Summary: This data set contains detailed elements the sea level projections associated with the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change Sixth Assessment Report. In particular, it contains relative sea level projections that exclude the background term (representing primarily land subsidence or uplift). It includes probability distributions for all the workflows described in AR6 WGI 9.6.3.2. P-boxes derived from these distributions are available in the sister entry 'IPCC-DDC_AR6_Sup_PBox'. These data may be of use for users who want to substitute their own estimates of the background term. Regional projections can also be accessed through the NASA/IPCC Sea Level Projections Tool at https://sealevel.nasa.gov/ipcc-ar6-sea-level-projection-tool. Depuis 2018, nous étudions les communautés zooplanctoniques de plus de 22 lacs et 13 étangs d'eau douce situés au sud de l'Île Victoria à Cambridge Bay, Nunavut (69 ° N, 105 ° O). Pour chacun des lacs et étangs échantillonnés les communautés de zooplancton ont été récoltées et les spécimens ont été identifiés jusqu'à l'espèce. Au total, plus de 77 espèces différentes ont été identifiées incluant 56 rotifères, 6 copépodes, 11 cladocères, 2 crevettes arctiques, une espèce appartenant à la famille des Mysidacea et une crevette têtard. Arctic landscapes are characterized by the presence of many lakes and ponds that exhibit distinct physico-chemical and biological properties. Since 2018, we have been studying the zooplankton communities of more than 22 lakes and 13 freshwater ponds located on southern Victoria Island, Cambridge Bay, Nunavut (69°N, 105°W). For each of the lakes and ponds sampled, zooplankton communities were collected and specimens were identified to species. In total, more than 77 different species were found, including 56 rotifers, 6 copepods, 11 cladocerans, 2 fairy shrimps, a mysid and a tadpole shrimp.

Flag values are the sum of individual error codes. The value of 0 refers to no error. Quality flag, sun: If the suns position is close to the horizon, the radiometers measure a very noisy signal. Radiometer measurements and variables which are computed from them are flagged +1 if the sun elevation is below 10 degrees; +2 if the broad band albedo exceeds the threshold 1.05 .This buoy had no own GPS source. Alfred Wegener Institute, Helmholtz Centre for Polar and Marine Research, Bremerhaven, PANGAEA, https://doi.org/10.1594/PANGAEA.937184 Solar radiation over and under sea ice was measured by radiation station 2020R13, an autonomous platform, installed on drifting First-Year-Ice (FYI) in the Arctic Ocean during MOSAiC (Leg 3) 2019/20. The resulting time series describes radiation measurements as a function of place and time between 06 May 2020 and 15 May 2020 in sample intervals of 10 minutes. The radiation measurements have been performed with spectral radiometers. All data are given in full spectral resolution interpolated to 1.0 nm, and integrated over the entire wavelength range (broadband, total: 320 to 950 nm). Two sensors, solar irradiance and upward reflected solar irradiance, were mounted on a on a platform about 1 m above the sea ice surface. The third sensor was mounted 0.5 m underneath the sea ice measuring the downward transmitted irradiance.

Methane emissions from aquatic and terrestrial ecosystems play a crucial role in global warming, which is particularly affecting high-latitude ecosystems. As major contributors to methane emissions in natural environments, the microbial communities involved in methane production and oxidation deserve a special attention. Microbial diversity and activity are expected to be strongly affected by the already observed (and further predicted) temperature increase in high-latitude ecosystems, eventually resulting in disrupted feedback methane emissions. The METHANOBASE project has been designed to investigate the intricate relations between microbial diversity and methane emissions in Arctic, Subarctic and Subantarctic ecosystems, under natural (baseline) conditions and in response to simulated temperature increments. We report here a small subunit ribosomal RNA (16S rRNA) analysis of lake, peatland and mineral soil ecosystems.

The mixing included the disturbance of a deep chlorophyll maximum (DCM) which was present at the same time of the experiment in Lake Stechlin and situated in the metalimnion of each enclosure during filling. Copepod and Cladocera biomass was monitored for 42 days after the experimental disturbance event (Utermöhl counting at 60x magnification and biomass calculation from length-dry mass relationships). Sampling was performed using a 90 µm mesh size Apstein-cone. Grab samples were collected from 10 stations in the Pechora Bay from aboard RV Kartesh in 2020-2021. Macrobenthic invertebrates were identified with the maximum level of certainty through optical microscopy using regional taxonomic keys. All taxonomic names were standardised using the World Register of Marine Species (WoRMS). All specimens have been counted and weighted (wet biomass) on Ohaus Adventurer scales with reported accuracy to 0.01 g. Bivalve molluscs and gastropods were weighed in shells. Biomass (g. m-2) and abundance (ind m-2) are used to characterise macrozoobenthos. The sampling and identification work was carried out in collaboration with specialists from Lomonosov Moscow State University Marine Research Center and P.P. Shirshov Institute of Oceanology.

Depuis 2018, nous étudions les communautés zooplanctoniques de plus de 22 lacs et 13 étangs d'eau douce situés au sud de l'Île Victoria à Cambridge Bay, Nunavut (69 ° N, 105 ° O). Pour chacun des lacs et étangs échantillonnés les communautés de zooplancton ont été récoltées et les spécimens ont été identifiés jusqu'à l'espèce. Au total, plus de 77 espèces différentes ont été identifiées incluant 56 rotifères, 6 copépodes, 11 cladocères, 2 crevettes arctiques, une espèce appartenant à la famille des Mysidacea et une crevette têtard. Arctic landscapes are characterized by the presence of many lakes and ponds that exhibit distinct physico-chemical and biological properties. Since 2018, we have been studying the zooplankton communities of more than 22 lakes and 13 freshwater ponds located on southern Victoria Island, Cambridge Bay, Nunavut (69°N, 105°W). For each of the lakes and ponds sampled, zooplankton communities were collected and specimens were identified to species. In total, more than 77 different species were found, including 56 rotifers, 6 copepods, 11 cladocerans, 2 fairy shrimps, a mysid and a tadpole shrimp.

The resulting time series describes radiation measurements as a function of place and time between 06 May 2020 and 15 May 2020 in sample intervals of 10 minutes. The radiation measurements have been performed with spectral radiometers. All data are given in full spectral resolution interpolated to 1.0 nm, and integrated over the entire wavelength range (broadband, total: 320 to 950 nm). Two sensors, solar irradiance and upward reflected solar irradiance, were mounted on a on a platform about 1 m above the sea ice surface. The third sensor was mounted 0.5 m underneath the sea ice measuring the downward transmitted irradiance.
