description Publicationkeyboard_double_arrow_right Article 2006Publisher:Centro Nacional de Información de Ciencias Médicas. The effects of chronic alcoholism initiated in the adolescence on arterial pressure and heart rate were characterized in male albine rats. They were divided into 2 groups (experimental and control) and 2 subgroups with different times of treatment (3 and 5 months) were organized. The experimental rats were administered ethanol by intraesophageal cannula. Arterial pressure and heart rate were studied by direct plethysmography. A two-way interactive ANOVA was used for the statistical processing of the results. The ingestion of ethanol produced an increase of the systolic and diastolic arterial pressure at 3 and 5 months of treatment. This rise was higher at 5 months of treatment. Heart rate did not show significant changes. It was concluded that the chronic ingestion of ethanol raises arterial pressure depending on time.

The industrialisation and modern technification of our society has favoured the genesis of global problems. Physical Education Didactics is facing serious problems of sustainability. There are increasingly strong tendencies that preach a Physical Education that makes motor behaviour sustainable, favouring learning, procedures, evaluations, materials and resources that facilitate sustainable behaviour and a balanced and healthy life. We present a systematic review of educational experiences in sustainable physical activity programmes. Aim: To obtain scientific evidence on sustainable physical education didactics for children and adolescents during the present decade, to compare studies that relate physical education to sustainable practices and to determine research efforts to develop sustainable physical education patterns in schoolchildren and adolescents. Methods: The search descriptors used were: physical activity, childhood, youth, environment and sustainability. Records were limited to those published in English, French and Spanish between January 2010 and December 2020. 11 studies fulfilled the review requirements: 5 considered sustainability in relation to healthy habits, 4 studied sustainable Physical Education programmes and 2 assessed nature protection activities. Results & discussion: with the selected articles we appreciate that it is necessary to develop a new didactics together with a new sustainable physical education, but also a sustainable sport eminently respectful with the person, with their limits, that does not take unnecessary risks and that carries out daily practices with the aim of restoring the damage caused, of care, of rest, so that the athlete, who demands so much and so much from their body, learns to look after it and give it everything it needs to be able to live in a peaceful, happy and healthy way. Conclusions: In the last decade there are not enough studies on sustainability of physical activity in youth and childhood. There is a lack of studies on responsible, tolerant physical activity and on the role of women in youth and childhood. The pandemic has exposed the ontological vulnerability shared by all human beings, but also the way in which socioeconomic inequalities affect the inequitable distribution of specific or situational vulnerabilities. On the other hand, it has also brought to the fore the profound interdependence we share among all people, which also extends to non-human agents and the environment. This article presents a general analysis of vulnerability in the context of COVID-19, proposing, in particular, that it is an appropriate category for analyzing the essential interdependence of human beings with their fellow human beings, with other living beings and with the environment.

This article intends to study the insertion of Brazil at the Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) of the Kyoto Protocol, through clean energy projects, emphasizing the cooperation between developed and developing countries, and aiming the practical actions that this mechanism allows to build up in order to reach the sustainable development and to stop the global warming. To achieve this, an intense bibliographic review of the international agreements concerning climate change, and books and articles about the Brazilian insertion on the Kyoto Protocol and on the Clean Development Mechanism was done. The Kyoto Protocol is an international agreement, which predicts the reduction of the greenhouse gases emissions through flexibly mechanisms. The Clean Development Mechanism is the only one that allows the participation of developing countries, for them to reduce emissions through projects that look for sustainable development. In this context, Brazil emerges as an attractive country to receive these projects, due to its vocation to develop alternative sources of energy and for its leadership on the Protocol's negotiation process. The CDM is therefore a great opportunity to Brazil, since these projects represent a source for financial resources for the country to seek the sustainable development, besides encouraging a greater scientific knowledge and the adoption of new and clean technologies.

[Climate change and dermatological diseases: what can we do?] Editorial: Giving a higher level of health information to people will ensure that society, and our reference population, acquires an adequate perception of risk on the problem of climate change, which would lead to each individual adopting healthy behaviors such as following correct habits of skin protection and hydration, acquiring a responsible attitude towards the prevention of environmental contamination of their local environment (work and home); all of it in order to avoid unnecessary dermatological risks (skin infections, allergies ...). Also, we need greater awareness of citizens, authorities, politicians and health professionals to develop climate change adaptation and mitigation measures, This fact necessarily involves promoting research in this field and implementing the good practices that arise.
