Data for: Parametric Synergy of Passive Design Elements in Cold-Cloudy Climate Zones of North-East India
Data for: Parametric Synergy of Passive Design Elements in Cold-Cloudy Climate Zones of North-East India
The author's Ph.D paper titled: "Passive Design with Affordances -Towards Low-energy Architecture in India" is a well motivated research with the objective to develop a strategy of low-energy passive design in India through the analysis of advanced passive climate charts, surveys, and parametric simulations to predict the building's thermal performance. Through systematic simulations on matrix combinations of passive design technique parameters, architecture characteristics that respond to local needs of people and climatic or lifestyle were shown in order to establish building design method symbiosis with the environment. This study shows the process and methodology for determining appropriate passive design methods in order to contribute to the development of passive design techniques adapted to the climate in India. As a passive design principle and strategy, various climate zones affordances had been shown to respond to peoples' needs: economic supplement (low-energy) and environmental symbiosis through adaptation of architectural elements and lifestyles.
