    The purpose of this paper is to compare the water balance and energy efficiency in the seasons analyzed by the students of the first cohort of PhD in sustainable development at the University of Manizales in the module called climate change, water and energy efficiency. In the case of water balances a correlation of the components of supply and demand is used, which are analyzed throughout a significance test to verify the relationship between variables. Regarding the issue of energy efficiency the tradeoff between water consumption as the production of biofuels and the reduction of CO2 emissions that it produces are evaluated. Subsequently the results shown by this exercise are explained and finally some alternatives are presented as an action plans if any of the presented case happens.

    Hace más de una década, con la caída del comunismo, el capitalismo se convirtió en la ideología económica predominante. Los resultados producidos en los últimos años a causa del capitalismo global son desalentadores desde la perspectiva socio ambiental y cultural: mercados desarrollados sobresaturados, una diferencia mucho más marcada entre pobres y ricos y crecientes niveles de degradación ambiental encabezan la lista de consecuencias. Sumado a lo anterior, para nadie es un secreto que el planeta lleva años padeciendo una crisis ecológica consecuencia de un sistema de producción y comercialización basado en el consumo de los recursos naturales, generación de residuos y uso de contaminantes que repercuten enormemente en el medio ambiente, así como en su ciclo natural de auto regenerarse. Todo lo anterior influye negativamente, de forma directa o indirecta sobre el planeta, el bienestar, la calidad de vida y la salud de la población. El agente social responsable en mayor parte del crecimiento económico y el desarrollo de la humanidad ha sido la empresa. Por esta misma razón la sociedad en el ámbito mundial ha empezado a ejercer presión para que se presente un proceso continuo de mejora en su comportamiento ambiental. El propósito principal de este trabajo es generar conciencia, luego, demostrar cómo hay empresas que son ejemplo de sostenibilidad y éxito gracias a sus lineamientos ecológicos y estrategias de responsabilidad social empresarial acompañado de los resultados positivos tanto en cifras como en posicionamiento y recordación de marca. Al igual que demostrar el uso desmedido del greenwashing en algunos casos reales, tanto nacionales como internacionales, por parte de empresas y corporaciones que incumplen con los lineamientos medioambientales en sus productos. Más allá de querer “vender” un modelo estratégico de responsabilidad empresarial y marketing que transforme a las empresas en entes que aportan al medio ambiente, el propósito es cuestionar si el consumo de ciertas marcas realmente vale la pena. Plan de gestión de involucramiento de los interesados 158 Este proyecto realizó un diseño del sistema de gestión de sostenibilidad para la empresa Cotranscat bajo los lineamientos de la norma técnica SECTORIAL COLOMBIANA NTS-TS-005 en el municipio de Tibú, Norte de Santander. Para ello, se realizó una investigación mixta, en la cual participan elementos tantos del tipo documental como del tipo de campo. La recolección de información fue suministrada por personal directivo de la empresa, así como el juicio de expertos en materia de sostenibilidad e implementación de Sistemas de Gestión de Sostenibilidad. También fue necesario la utilización de datos obtenidos tanto de fuentes documentales tales como libros, tesinas, documentos en Internet, artículos de revistas, informes, así también como datos obtenidos desde el contexto y el medio donde se desarrolló el proyecto. Se logró, fortalecer el servicio de la empresa COTRANSCAT mediante la implementación de un Sistema de Gestión para la Sostenibilidad, teniendo en cuenta las buenas prácticas propuestas en la Guía del PMBOK. Seguidamente, se realizó un diagnóstico organizacional de la empresa COTRANSCAT. Posteriormente, se caracterizaron las actividades de sostenibilidad en la empresa COTRANSCAT. Finalmente, se formuló un plan de dirección de proyectos para la implementación de un Sistema de Gestión para la Sostenibilidad, de acuerdo con las buenas prácticas de la Guía del PMBOK. This project carried out a design of the sustainability management system for the Contranscat company under the guidelines of the COLOMBIAN SECTORIAL technical standard NTS-TS-005 in the municipality of Tibú, Norte de Santander. For this, a mixed investigation was carried out, in which both documentary and field-type elements participated. The collection of information was provided by the company's management personnel, as well as the judgment of experts in the field of sustainability and implementation of Sustainability Management Systems. It was also necessary to use data obtained from documentary sources such as books, dissertations, Internet documents, magazine articles, reports, as well as data obtained from the context and the medium where the project was developed. The COTRANSCAT company service was strengthened through the implementation of a Management System for Sustainability, taking into account the good practices proposed in the PMBOK Guide. Next, an organizational diagnosis of the COTRANSCAT company was made. Subsequently, sustainability activities in the COTRANSCAT company were characterized. Finally, a project management plan was formulated for the implementation of a Management System for Sustainability, in accordance with the good practices of the PMBOK Guide.     85 páginas ; This paper contains a research to determine if it is possible to generate electricity in a dairy farm located in Santa Rosa de Osos, Antioquia, with the biogas obtained from an anaerobic process of the manure of five thousand (5.000) pigs feeding at the dairy. A comparison between the theoretical composition of the biogas and the composition of the obtained samples is made, following by an analysis of the power within the biogas and then various technics for power generation are evaluated in order to select the appropriate one for the requirements of the dairy and the restrictions of the biogas. After choosing the generating technic and equipment, a system is required that allows switching between the generator and the electricity from the Power Supplier starting at the same voltage and frequency. ; En el documento a continuación se realiza una investigación enfocada a determinar si es posible generar energía eléctrica en una finca de Santa Rosa de Osos, Antioquia, a partir del biogás que se puede obtener de las heces de los cinco mil (5.000) cerdos que hay en la finca.     El objetivo de este ensayo es buscar las posibles respuestas a la pregunta ¿Cómo serán diseñadas las viviendas para futuras pandemias? Comenzaremos hablando sobre el papel que cumplen los docentes en este proceso ya que, para poder generar un cambio, primero se debe empezar desde la educación, aquí explicaremos las metodologías que se deben manejar para llevar acabo un buen proceso de aprendizaje. En el cual los futuros profesionales se responsabilicen por el medio ambiente, la buena orientación y distribución de los espacios, teniendo en cuenta las necesidades de la familia en caso de un aislamiento preventivo. Por consiguiente, procederemos a mencionar las tipologías de viviendas que son más efectivas en contrarrestar de una futura pandemia. Entre estas tipologías se encuentran la vivienda sostenible y ecológica, las cuales serán analizadas en todos los sentidos (definición, planteamientos, semejanzas y diferencias) para luego llegar a la conclusión en la cual ataremos todos los cabos, demostrando los resultados de nuestros planteamientos. ; The objective of this essay is to look for possible answers to the question: How will the houses be designed for future pandemics? We will start talking about the role that teachers play in this process since, in order to generate change, you must first start from education, here we will explain the methodologies that must be used to carry out a good learning process. In which future professionals take responsibility for the environment, the good orientation and distribution of the spaces, taking into account the needs of the family in the event of preventive isolation. Therefore, we will proceed to mention the housing typologies that are most effective in counteracting a future pandemic.     The Internet of Things (IoT) is an enabling paradigm for Industry 4.0, where sensors and actuators connect to the Internet. The protocol LoRaWAN (Long Range Area Network) is one of the most used in the IoT, and its primary objective is to transmit sensor information over long distances with minimal energy consumption. This protocol implements Adaptive Data Rate scheme to optimize the energy consumed per node, which, when evaluated through exhaustive simulations in Omnet ++, has exhibited opportunities for improvement in convergence time. The present work shows machine learning models based on parametric and non-parametric methods based on Support Vector Machines (SVM) and Artificial Neural Networks (ANN). The results indicate that the SVM and ANN methods have a success rate greater than 90% in the estimated parameters. © 2020, Associacao Iberica de Sistemas e Tecnologias de Informacao.     The Grupo EPM is experiencing a remarkable change in its strategy of social responsibility. The aim of this paper is to analyses the relationship between the strategy change and the political stance of the company in the hydropower Río Grande II area of influence in Colombia. Social responsibility is assumed theoretically as a corporate sustainability initiative. An exploratory case study is adopted. Results suggest that the corporation seeks a more central position in the relationship with the State and the local community. The relationship with the State is oriented towards the collective construction of territory, and with the local community is desired to be more participatory. This new corporative stance leads to still unexplored processes where costs and benefits are shared with the State and the community. © 2014, Pontificia Universidad Javeriana. All rights reserved.

    RESUMEN : En este documento se presenta el funcionamiento del inversor puente H monofásico conectado a la red y se deduce su modelo matemático con el método de referencia y reacción. Se observa la variación entre los interruptores IGBT’s y los diodos conectados antiparalelos, los cuales se polarizan cuando los inductores de acople a la red inyectan energía reactiva al inversor. Se deduce el control PI, haciendo uso de la herramienta de simulación Matlab (sisotool), posteriormente se modela un bloque de simulación de control en el software OpenModelica y se comprueba a través de la simulación el correcto funcionamiento del inversor y su control. La información suministrada presenta un aporte a la solución del modelo matemático del inversor a través del método de referencia y reacción, puede ser utilizada como una base para el desarrollo de simulación, control y optimización del inversor. ; ABSTRACT : This paper presents the operation of the single-phase H-bridge inverter connected to the grid and it deduces its mathematical model with the reference and reaction method. The variation between the IGBT switches and the anti-parallel connected diodes, which are polarized when the grid coupling inductors inject reactive power to the inverter is observed. The PI control is deduced, making use of the Matlab simulation tool (sisotool), then a control simulation block is modeled in the OpenModelica software, and the correct operation of the inverter and its control is verified through the simulation. The information provided presents a contribution to the solution of the mathematical model of the inverter through the reference and reaction method, it can be used as a basis for the development of simulation, control, and optimization of the inverter.

    The purpose of this paper is to compare the water balance and energy efficiency in the seasons analyzed by the students of the first cohort of PhD in sustainable development at the University of Manizales in the module called climate change, water and energy efficiency. In the case of water balances a correlation of the components of supply and demand is used, which are analyzed throughout a significance test to verify the relationship between variables. Regarding the issue of energy efficiency the tradeoff between water consumption as the production of biofuels and the reduction of CO2 emissions that it produces are evaluated. Subsequently the results shown by this exercise are explained and finally some alternatives are presented as an action plans if any of the presented case happens.

    Hace más de una década, con la caída del comunismo, el capitalismo se convirtió en la ideología económica predominante. Los resultados producidos en los últimos años a causa del capitalismo global son desalentadores desde la perspectiva socio ambiental y cultural: mercados desarrollados sobresaturados, una diferencia mucho más marcada entre pobres y ricos y crecientes niveles de degradación ambiental encabezan la lista de consecuencias. Sumado a lo anterior, para nadie es un secreto que el planeta lleva años padeciendo una crisis ecológica consecuencia de un sistema de producción y comercialización basado en el consumo de los recursos naturales, generación de residuos y uso de contaminantes que repercuten enormemente en el medio ambiente, así como en su ciclo natural de auto regenerarse. Todo lo anterior influye negativamente, de forma directa o indirecta sobre el planeta, el bienestar, la calidad de vida y la salud de la población. El agente social responsable en mayor parte del crecimiento económico y el desarrollo de la humanidad ha sido la empresa. Por esta misma razón la sociedad en el ámbito mundial ha empezado a ejercer presión para que se presente un proceso continuo de mejora en su comportamiento ambiental. El propósito principal de este trabajo es generar conciencia, luego, demostrar cómo hay empresas que son ejemplo de sostenibilidad y éxito gracias a sus lineamientos ecológicos y estrategias de responsabilidad social empresarial acompañado de los resultados positivos tanto en cifras como en posicionamiento y recordación de marca. Al igual que demostrar el uso desmedido del greenwashing en algunos casos reales, tanto nacionales como internacionales, por parte de empresas y corporaciones que incumplen con los lineamientos medioambientales en sus productos. Más allá de querer “vender” un modelo estratégico de responsabilidad empresarial y marketing que transforme a las empresas en entes que aportan al medio ambiente, el propósito es cuestionar si el consumo de ciertas marcas realmente vale la pena. Plan de gestión de involucramiento de los interesados 158 Este proyecto realizó un diseño del sistema de gestión de sostenibilidad para la empresa Cotranscat bajo los lineamientos de la norma técnica SECTORIAL COLOMBIANA NTS-TS-005 en el municipio de Tibú, Norte de Santander. Para ello, se realizó una investigación mixta, en la cual participan elementos tantos del tipo documental como del tipo de campo. La recolección de información fue suministrada por personal directivo de la empresa, así como el juicio de expertos en materia de sostenibilidad e implementación de Sistemas de Gestión de Sostenibilidad. También fue necesario la utilización de datos obtenidos tanto de fuentes documentales tales como libros, tesinas, documentos en Internet, artículos de revistas, informes, así también como datos obtenidos desde el contexto y el medio donde se desarrolló el proyecto. Se logró, fortalecer el servicio de la empresa COTRANSCAT mediante la implementación de un Sistema de Gestión para la Sostenibilidad, teniendo en cuenta las buenas prácticas propuestas en la Guía del PMBOK. Seguidamente, se realizó un diagnóstico organizacional de la empresa COTRANSCAT. Posteriormente, se caracterizaron las actividades de sostenibilidad en la empresa COTRANSCAT. Finalmente, se formuló un plan de dirección de proyectos para la implementación de un Sistema de Gestión para la Sostenibilidad, de acuerdo con las buenas prácticas de la Guía del PMBOK. This project carried out a design of the sustainability management system for the Contranscat company under the guidelines of the COLOMBIAN SECTORIAL technical standard NTS-TS-005 in the municipality of Tibú, Norte de Santander. For this, a mixed investigation was carried out, in which both documentary and field-type elements participated. The collection of information was provided by the company's management personnel, as well as the judgment of experts in the field of sustainability and implementation of Sustainability Management Systems. It was also necessary to use data obtained from documentary sources such as books, dissertations, Internet documents, magazine articles, reports, as well as data obtained from the context and the medium where the project was developed. The COTRANSCAT company service was strengthened through the implementation of a Management System for Sustainability, taking into account the good practices proposed in the PMBOK Guide. Next, an organizational diagnosis of the COTRANSCAT company was made. Subsequently, sustainability activities in the COTRANSCAT company were characterized. Finally, a project management plan was formulated for the implementation of a Management System for Sustainability, in accordance with the good practices of the PMBOK Guide.     85 páginas ; This paper contains a research to determine if it is possible to generate electricity in a dairy farm located in Santa Rosa de Osos, Antioquia, with the biogas obtained from an anaerobic process of the manure of five thousand (5.000) pigs feeding at the dairy. A comparison between the theoretical composition of the biogas and the composition of the obtained samples is made, following by an analysis of the power within the biogas and then various technics for power generation are evaluated in order to select the appropriate one for the requirements of the dairy and the restrictions of the biogas.     The Internet of Things (IoT) is an enabling paradigm for Industry 4.0, where sensors and actuators connect to the Internet. The protocol LoRaWAN (Long Range Area Network) is one of the most used in the IoT, and its primary objective is to transmit sensor information over long distances with minimal energy consumption. This protocol implements Adaptive Data Rate scheme to optimize the energy consumed per node, which, when evaluated through exhaustive simulations in Omnet ++, has exhibited opportunities for improvement in convergence time. The present work shows machine learning models based on parametric and non-parametric methods based on Support Vector Machines (SVM) and Artificial Neural Networks (ANN). The results indicate that the SVM and ANN methods have a success rate greater than 90% in the estimated parameters. © 2020, Associacao Iberica de Sistemas e Tecnologias de Informacao.     The Grupo EPM is experiencing a remarkable change in its strategy of social responsibility. The aim of this paper is to analyses the relationship between the strategy change and the political stance of the company in the hydropower Río Grande II area of influence in Colombia. Social responsibility is assumed theoretically as a corporate sustainability initiative. An exploratory case study is adopted. Results suggest that the corporation seeks a more central position in the relationship with the State and the local community. The relationship with the State is oriented towards the collective construction of territory, and with the local community is desired to be more participatory.     RESUMEN : En este documento se presenta el funcionamiento del inversor puente H monofásico conectado a la red y se deduce su modelo matemático con el método de referencia y reacción. Se observa la variación entre los interruptores IGBT’s y los diodos conectados antiparalelos, los cuales se polarizan cuando los inductores de acople a la red inyectan energía reactiva al inversor. Se deduce el control PI, haciendo uso de la herramienta de simulación Matlab (sisotool), posteriormente se modela un bloque de simulación de control en el software OpenModelica y se comprueba a través de la simulación el correcto funcionamiento del inversor y su control. La información suministrada presenta un aporte a la solución del modelo matemático del inversor a través del método de referencia y reacción, puede ser utilizada como una base para el desarrollo de simulación, control y optimización del inversor. ; ABSTRACT : This paper presents the operation of the single-phase H-bridge inverter connected to the grid and it deduces its mathematical model with the reference and reaction method. The variation between the IGBT switches and the anti-parallel connected diodes, which are polarized when the grid coupling inductors inject reactive power to the inverter is observed. The PI control is deduced, making use of the Matlab simulation tool (sisotool), then a control simulation block is modeled in the OpenModelica software, and the correct operation of the inverter and its control is verified through the simulation. The information provided presents a contribution to the solution of the mathematical model of the inverter through the reference and reaction method, it can be used as a basis for the development of simulation, control, and optimization of the inverter.
