Este trabajo se centra en el modelado mediante TRNSYS de una bomba de calor geotérmica agua-agua que utiliza CO2 como refrigerante para producir agua caliente sanitaria (ACS), para posteriormente hacer un estudio comparativo con una instalación solar. Dicha instalación se encuentra disponible en el laboratorio de Calor y Frío del ELDI. Los objetivos principales del trabajo son: - Estudiar y entender el funcionamiento de la bomba de calor y de todos sus componentes. - Conocer las ventajas que presente el CO2 como refrigerante. - Búsqueda de información acerca de los sistemas de captación de energía geotérmica. - Modelar los componentes que constituyen una bomba de calor geotérmica. - Programar los modelos seleccionados mediante el compilador FORTRAN. - Simulación de la bomba de calor en TRNSYS a partir de los componentes programados que la forman. - Realizar un estudio comparativo con un sistema solar convencional a base de colectores solares. ; Escuela Técnica Superior de Ingeniería Industrial ; Universidad Politécnica de Cartagena

This study originates from reports that in collaboration with ECODES and funding from the Ministry for the Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge, carried out by the Media Communication Observatory on Climate Change at its headquarters of the MDCS Research Group of the UCM. The analysis revealed how the causes, impacts, mitigation, and adaptation projects to the effects of climate change were communicated, and the identity of those who speak and/or are referred to. The discursive hegemony of mediators (journalists) and politicians is confirmed, to the detriment of scientists, and improved communication for resilience to climate change is promoted. ; Analizado el discurso televisivo durante 2021 a través de una muestra representativa de registros extraídos de cadenas de TV, se revela la configuración que, en la pandemia, ajustó la mediación dialéctica entre comunicación televisiva y capital cognitivo disponible para la resiliencia ante el Cambio Climático. Este estudio se origina en informes que en colaboración con ECODES y financiación del Ministerio para la Transición Ecológica y el Reto Demográfico, realiza el Observatorio de la Comunicación Mediática del Cambio Climático en su sede del Grupo de Investigación MDCS, de la UCM. El análisis desveló cómo se comunicaron las causas, los impactos, los proyectos de mitigación y adaptación ante los efectos del cambio climático, y la identidad de quienes toman la palabra y/o son aludidos. Se confirma la hegemonía discursiva de mediadores (periodistas) y políticos, en detrimento de los científicos, y se promueve mejorar la comunicación para la resiliencia ante el cambio climático.

[ES] Los edificios de H arquitectes, no pasan desapercibidos, ni visual, ni arquitectónicamente. Sus construcciones son medioambientalmente sostenibles y para ellos la eficiencia energética es prioritaria en sus proyectos.Partiendo de este punto, la realización de este trabajo pretende explicar, a través del arte de la construcción, el Centro Cívico Cristalleries Planell de Harquitectes en la ciudad de Barcelona. Para ello, se analiza y se representan gráficamente los sistemas constructivos empleados haciendo hincapié sobre todo en sus estrategias de ahorro de energía. [EN] H arquitectes buildings do not go unnoticed, neither visually, nor architecturally. Their buildings are environmentally sustainable and energy efficiency is a priority in their projects.Starting from this point, the realization of this work aims to explain, through the art of construction, the Centro Cívico Cristalleries Planell to Harquitectes in the city of Barcelona. To do this, the construction systems used are analyzed and graphically represented, with particular emphasis on their energy saving strategies.

Este Trabajo consiste en realizar un estudio sobre la penetración de energías renovables en una red de alta tensión, concretamente en la red IEEE 39-Bus System, la cual está situada en New England (EEUU). El objetivo principal es determinar el porcentaje máximo de generación renovable que puede soportar dicha red. Para realizar las simulaciones se ha usado el programa PSS/E. En primer lugar se ha hecho una explicación sobre las energías renovables y su tendencia tanto en España como en Europa. A continuación se comenta en qué consisten las conexiones de renovables a la red eléctrica y las dificultades para integrar energía renovable en dichas redes. Puesto que toda conexión a una red eléctrica debe seguir una normativa, se explican los puntos más destacados del procedimiento PO 12.2. Este procedimiento es uno de los varios códigos de conexión existentes, el cual informa sobre los requisitos mínimos de diseño, equipamiento, funcionamiento, puesta en servicio y seguridad de las instalaciones de generación y de demanda. Posteriormente se define la red eléctrica IEE 39-BUS System, en la cual se han realizado las simulaciones, así como el modelo de generador renovable que se ha usado. Finalmente se ha desarrollado la realización de las simulaciones, empezando por realizar simulaciones sin generadores renovables para observar el comportamiento de la red. Después de estas primeras simulaciones, las cuales han mostrado un resultado positivo, se han ido sustituyendo generadores convencionales por otros de renovables. La sustitución se ha hecho de manera progresiva, empezando por una penetración de renovable del 20% hasta alcanzar el 70%, por lo que se concluye que la red IEE 39-BUS System puede llegar a soportar hasta un 70% de generación renovable.

En este documento se hace una visión general de una de las primeras regiones en el mundo en desarrollar la industria eólica a nivel industrial, la Comunidad Foral de Navarra situada al Norte de España. Este gran desarrollo es gracias a la intensa industrialización de las últimas décadas y la multiplicación de los aparatos eléctricos. El TFG comienza con una breve introducción sobre la energía eólica con diferentes conceptos físicos, tipos de aerogeneradores y sus componentes y una breve explicación de la conexión entre parques eólicos y red general. Seguidamente se realiza una breve introducción sobre las energías renovables en España con especial hincapié en la energía eólica. En tercer lugar, se analiza el mercado ibérico de la electricidad mediante los diferentes mercados (diario, intradiario), intercambios internacionales y comparativa con otros mercados europeos. A continuación, se expone el punto más relevante de este proyecto, un análisis a fondo de la energía eólica en Navarra. Se realiza un estudio de estimación del potencial eólico en Navarra, diferentes compañías del sector en la región, que criterios se eligen para situar un parque, la localización de ellos en la Comunidad y un coste aproximado de un parque eólico. Además de contener un estudio del pasado eólico en la región y una estimación del potencial de la energía con visión de futuro. En aquest document es fa una visió general d'una de les primeres regions en el món en desenvolupar la indústria eòlica a nivell industrial, la Comunitat Foral de Navarra, situada al Nord d'Espanya. Aquest gran desenvolupament és gràcies a la intensa industrialització de les darreres dècades i la multiplicació dels aparells elèctrics. Per començar, es fa una breu introducció sobre l'energia eòlica amb diferents conceptes físics, tipus d'aerogeneradors i els seus components i una breu explicació de la connexió entre parcs eòlics i xarxa general. Seguidament, es realitza una breu introducció sobre les energies renovables a Espanya amb especial èmfasi en l'energia eòlica. En tercer lloc, s'analitza el mercat ibèric de l'electricitat mitjançant els diferents mercats (diari, intradiari), intercanvis internacionals i comparativa amb altres mercats europeus. A continuació, s’exposa el punt amb més rellevància del projecte, una anàlisi a fons de l'energia eòlica a Navarra. Es realitza un estudi d'estimació del potencial eòlic a Navarra, diferents companyies del sector a la regió, els criteris es trien per situar un parc, la localització d'ells a la Comunitat i un cost aproximat d'un parc eòlic. A més de conté un estudi del passat eòlic a la regió i una estimació del potencial de l'energia amb visió de futur. This document gives an overview of one of the first regions in the world to develop the wind energy industry at an industrial level, the Comunidad Foral of Navarra, located in northern Spain. This great development has been possible to the intense industrialization of the last decades and the multiplication of electrical devices. The TFG stars with a brief intro to wind energy together different physical concepts, types of wind turbines and their components, and a brief explanation of the connection between wind farms and the general grid. This is followed by another analysis to renewable energies in Spain with special emphasis on wind energy. Thirdly, the Iberian electricity market is analyzed through different markets (daily, intraday), international exchanges, and comparison with other European markets. The most important point of this project is an in-depth analysis of wind energy in Navarra. A study is carried out to estimate the wind potential as well as the different companies in the sector that are located in Navarra, which criteria are chosen to locate a park, the location of these in the Community, and an approximate cost of a wind park. It also contains a study of the region's wind power past and an estimate of the energy potential with a view to the future. En el ámbito de la ingeniería estructural, el diseño y cálculo de estructuras de acero se enfrenta a desafíos debido a la complejidad de su comportamiento. En este contexto, el avance en las herramientas de análisis y modelización permite una predicción más exacta de estas complejidades, posibilitando así el diseño de estructuras más eficientes y sostenibles a partir de herramientas y metodologías avanzadas de cálculo. No obstante, en el panorama actual, la aplicación real de estos avances en la ingeniería estructural sigue siendo un desafío, debido a su estado de desarrollo, limitada adopción por parte de la profesión y la falta de adaptación en las normativas existentes. El presente trabajo se enfoca en la comparación de dos metodologías de cálculo en el diseño de estructuras de acero: el método tradicional de cálculo basado en elementos (two-step method) y el método avanzado basado en sistemas (one-step method o advanced method). Utilizando el caso de estudio concreto de una estructura metálica aporticada, se analizan y comparan ambas metodologías en función de diversos criterios como la eficiencia material, el coste, la complejidad técnica, el tiempo de ejecución y la huella de carbono a partir de un robusto análisis multicriterio. A través de todos los escenarios contemplados en la comparativa, se concluye que el método one-step es más adecuado en términos de eficiencia, sostenibilidad e innovación. La metodología implementada incluye el dimensionamiento tradicional utilizando el software ConSteel, y el avanzado con ABAQUS. Cabe destacar que las conclusiones de este estudio son independientes de las herramientas de software específicas empleadas para cada metodología de cálculo, puesto que el trabajo se centra en comparar las metodologías de cálculo, y no las herramientas. In the field of structural engineering, the design and calculation of steel structures faces challenges due to the complexity of their behavior. In this context, advancements in analysis and modelling tools enable more accurate predictions of these complexities and, thus, enabling the design of more efficient and sustainable structures. This is accomplished through the application of advanced calculation tools and methodologies. However, in the current situation, the real-world application of these advances remains a challenge due to their developmental stage, limited adoption within the profession, as well as the lack of adaptation in existing regulations. This study focuses on comparing two calculation methodologies in the design of steel structures: the traditional element-based calculation method (two-step method) and the advanced system-based method (one-step method or advanced method). Using the specific case study of a framed steel structure, both methodologies are analyzed and compared. Key criteria considered include material efficiency, cost, technical complexity, execution time, and carbon footprint, all evaluated through a robust multicriteria analysis. Across all the scenarios considered in the comparison, it is concluded that the one-step method is more suitable in terms of efficiency, sustainability, and innovation. The methodology adopted in this research includes a conventional design process using ConSteel software, along with an advanced approach using ABAQUS. It is important to note that the outcomes of this study are not reliant on the specific software chosen for each calculation approach. The emphasis of this work lies in the comparative analysis of the calculation methodologies themselves, rather than the particular software tools used. En l'àmbit de l'enginyeria estructural, el disseny i càlcul d'estructures d'acer s'enfronta a reptes a causa de la complexitat del seu comportament. En aquest context, el progrés en les eines d'anàlisi i modelització possibilita una predicció més exacta d'aquestes complexitats, permetent així el disseny d'estructures més eficients i sostenibles a partir d’eines i metodologies avançades de càlcul. No obstant això, en el panorama actual, l'aplicació real d'aquests avanços en l'enginyeria estructural continua sent un repte, a causa del seu estat de desenvolupament, adopció limitada per part de la professió i la falta d’adaptació a les normatives existents. El present treball se centra en la comparació de dues metodologies de càlcul en el disseny d'estructures d'acer: el mètode tradicional de càlcul basat en elements (two-step method) i el mètode avançat basat en sistemes (one-step method o advanced method). Utilitzant el cas d'estudi concret d’una estructura porticada, s'analitzen i comparen ambdues metodologies en funció de diversos criteris com l'eficiència material, el cost, la complexitat tècnica, el temps d'execució i la petjada de carboni a partir d’una anàlisi multicriteri robusta. Mitjançant tots els escenaris contemplats en la comparativa, es conclou que el mètode one-step és més adequat en termes d'eficiència, sostenibilitat i innovació. La metodologia implementada inclou el dimensionament tradicional fent servir el software ConSteel, i el dimensionament avançat amb ABAQUS. És important ressaltar que les conclusions d'aquest estudi són independents de les eines de software específiques emprades per a cada metodologia de càlcul, donat que el treball se centra a comparar les metodologies de càlcul, i no les eines.

En el último siglo, con el desarrollo de las técnicas agrícolas tradicionales, se están ejerciendo presiones sobre determinados recursos, provocando que cada vez más personas tengan problemas de acceso a una alimentación segura. El futuro próximo va a estar caracterizado por una creciente población mundial y un éxodo a las ciudades que aumentarán dichas presiones, por lo que se están desarrollando nuevas técnicas para que el cultivo de hortalizas sea más sostenible. Las técnicas hidropónicas ofrecen una alternativa viable, ya que su uso supone un ahorro en las bases fundamentales de la agricultura tradicional (agua y suelo). En el presente trabajo se ha realizado una detallada descripción de los sistemas hidropónicos, para así poder efectuar una comparación en términos de sostenibilidad con las técnicas tradicionales. Tras comparar ambas técnicas, se puede afirmar que la hidroponía reduce el uso del agua hasta en un 99%, aumenta la relación planta/unidad de superficie, y tiene una producción igual o superior a la tradicional. Además, es más respetuosa con el medio, evitando el uso de pesticidas y reduciendo la contaminación de suelos y aguas subterráneas. In the last century, with the development of traditional agricultural techniques, we have been putting pressure on resources, causing more and more people to have problems accessing safe food. The near future is going to be determined by a growing world population and an exodus to the cities that increase the agricultural impact, so new techniques for growing vegetables that are more sustainable are developed. Hydroponic techniques offer a viable alternative, since their use represents savings in the fundamentals of traditional agriculture (water and soil). In this work, a detailed description of the hydroponic systems has been made in order to establish a relationship in terms of sustainability with traditional techniques. After comparing both techniques, it can be affirmed that hydroponics reduces water use by up to 99%, increases the plant / surface unit ratio, and has a production equal to or greater than the traditional one. La ciudad ha evolucionado rápidamente adoptando un modelo basado en el consumo de recursos, devorando la energía, el agua y los materiales y expulsando grandes cantidades de residuos. Ha invadido y destruido el entorno, corrompiendo los municipios colindantes, además de haber reducido la calidad de vida de los ciudadanos y contribuido al avance del cambio climático y a la expansión de la huella ecológica. No podemos eludir el reto de la responsabilidad de aportar una respuesta adecuada. Una respuesta que no es inmediata. Requiere un proceso de reflexión, de aproximación y de cambio progresivo. Uno de los principales retos actuales es pensar en nuevas estrategias que permitan que los modelos urbanos territoriales sean más compatibles con el medio ambiente. Los ecobarrios persiguen los principios de eficiencia, igualdad y variedad que se configuran en un desarrollo urbano. Tratan de hacer compatible una buena calidad de vida urbana con la disminución sustancial del impacto ambiental de nuestras ciudades y pueblo. [EN] From the Universities we have a privileged situation that allows us to bring technology closer to the SDGs. This proposal aims to bring students closer to SDG13, applying learning methodologies aimed at evaluating the consequences of climate change through satellite positioning techniques. The student, through his TFG, will implement a library of functions in Python language to retrieve the weekly solution for the positioning of several permanent GNSS stations from the service provided by NASA, and will evaluate the acceleration produced in recent years in the h component ( elevation or height) due to ice loss at stations near the poles. In this work, skills are developed in the management of products resulting from the constellations of positioning satellites, available to the public, and applied to the evaluation of the consequences of climate change. These skills are a very attractive element in the business environment and can be transferred to a multitude of applications. Our student will learn to analyze the effect caused by the melting of the poles on the tectonic plates. When the frozen mass disappears, its weight must be compensated by isostatic movements of the tectonic plates in the polar zones, causing the plates to rise in these zones. This experience allows us to know how the melting of the poles is affecting the different permanent GNSS stations near them in recent years through spatial geodesy and positioning techniques. Through this study it will be possible to see the trend of each of the coordinates of the permanent stations, especially the variations in height, as well as the speed of change of said coordinates, that is, it will be possible to verify if in recent years the process of ice loss over the study area as a consequence of climate change. Climate change globally affects the entire planet and has a negative impact on the economy and citizens in general. Goal 13 calls for urgent action to combat climate change and its consequences. This experience makes it possible to objectively assess, using geodetic variables, measurable consequences of climate change, and to quantify the acceleration process that is taking place. [ES] Este proyecto trabaja la meta 13.1 del ODS13, acción por el clima. Generando una herramienta que permitirá “fortalecer la resiliencia y la capacidad de adaptación a los riesgos relacionados con el clima y los desastres naturales en todos los países”. Para contribuir con este objetivo, se ha trabajado con la variación de coordenadas de estaciones permanentes pertenecientes al IGS. Estas coordenadas pertenecen a un ajuste armonizado de la serie temporal 1 de enero del año 1995 hasta el 1 de enero del año 2020. En la realización del estudio se emplea una herramienta de desarrollo propio; una aplicación informática creada al efecto que permitirá el procesamiento sistemático de un gran volumen de información obtenido de las estaciones permanentes. El desarrollo informático permitirá además crear una librería para el lenguaje Python que facilitará en un futuro a otros usuarios la obtención de información de cualquier estación permanente mundial en el lapso de tiempo deseado. Para la realización de este proyecto se ha seguido una metodología que consta de los siguientes puntos: • Descarga de datos • Análisis y tratamiento de la información • Obtención de resultados: mapas y gráficos • Creación de una clase (estructura informática de la información) de forma similar a la estructura de cualquier librería Python

Este trabajo se centra en el modelado mediante TRNSYS de una bomba de calor geotérmica agua-agua que utiliza CO2 como refrigerante para producir agua caliente sanitaria (ACS), para posteriormente hacer un estudio comparativo con una instalación solar. Dicha instalación se encuentra disponible en el laboratorio de Calor y Frío del ELDI. This study originates from reports that in collaboration with ECODES and funding from the Ministry for the Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge, carried out by the Media Communication Observatory on Climate Change at its headquarters of the MDCS Research Group of the UCM. The analysis revealed how the causes, impacts, mitigation, and adaptation projects to the effects of climate change were communicated, and the identity of those who speak and/or are referred to. The discursive hegemony of mediators (journalists) and politicians is confirmed, to the detriment of scientists, and improved communication for resilience to climate change is promoted. ; Analizado el discurso televisivo durante 2021 a través de una muestra representativa de registros extraídos de cadenas de TV, se revela la configuración que, en la pandemia, ajustó la mediación dialéctica entre comunicación televisiva y capital cognitivo disponible para la resiliencia ante el Cambio Climático. Este estudio se origina en informes que en colaboración con ECODES y financiación del Ministerio para la Transición Ecológica y el Reto Demográfico, realiza el Observatorio de la Comunicación Mediática del Cambio Climático en su sede del Grupo de Investigación MDCS, de la UCM. El análisis desveló cómo se comunicaron las causas, los impactos, los proyectos de mitigación y adaptación ante los efectos del cambio climático, y la identidad de quienes toman la palabra y/o son aludidos. Se confirma la hegemonía discursiva de mediadores (periodistas) y políticos, en detrimento de los científicos, y se promueve mejorar la comunicación para la resiliencia ante el cambio climático.

Sus construcciones son medioambientalmente sostenibles y para ellos la eficiencia energética es prioritaria en sus proyectos.Partiendo de este punto, la realización de este trabajo pretende explicar, a través del arte de la construcción, el Centro Cívico Cristalleries Planell de Harquitectes en la ciudad de Barcelona. Para ello, se analiza y se representan gráficamente los sistemas constructivos empleados haciendo hincapié sobre todo en sus estrategias de ahorro de energía. El objetivo principal es determinar el porcentaje máximo de generación renovable que puede soportar dicha red. Para realizar las simulaciones se ha usado el programa PSS/E. En primer lugar se ha hecho una explicación sobre las energías renovables y su tendencia tanto en España como en Europa. A continuación se comenta en qué consisten las conexiones de renovables a la red eléctrica y las dificultades para integrar energía renovable en dichas redes. Puesto que toda conexión a una red eléctrica debe seguir una normativa, se explican los puntos más destacados del procedimiento PO 12.2. Este procedimiento es uno de los varios códigos de conexión existentes, el cual informa sobre los requisitos mínimos de diseño, equipamiento, funcionamiento, puesta en servicio y seguridad de las instalaciones de generación y de demanda. Posteriormente se define la red eléctrica IEE 39-BUS System, en la cual se han realizado las simulaciones, así como el modelo de generador renovable que se ha usado. Finalmente se ha desarrollado la realización de las simulaciones, empezando por realizar simulaciones sin generadores renovables para observar el comportamiento de la red. Después de estas primeras simulaciones, las cuales han mostrado un resultado positivo, se han ido sustituyendo generadores convencionales por otros de renovables. La sustitución se ha hecho de manera progresiva, empezando por una penetración de renovable del 20% hasta alcanzar el 70%, por lo que se concluye que la red IEE 39-BUS System puede llegar a soportar hasta un 70% de generación renovable.

En este documento se hace una visión general de una de las primeras regiones en el mundo en desarrollar la industria eólica a nivel industrial, la Comunidad Foral de Navarra situada al Norte de España. Este gran desarrollo es gracias a la intensa industrialización de las últimas décadas y la multiplicación de los aparatos eléctricos. El TFG comienza con una breve introducción sobre la energía eólica con diferentes conceptos físicos, tipos de aerogeneradores y sus componentes y una breve explicación de la conexión entre parques eólicos y red general. Seguidamente se realiza una breve introducción sobre las energías renovables en España con especial hincapié en la energía eólica. En tercer lugar, se analiza el mercado ibérico de la electricidad mediante los diferentes mercados (diario, intradiario), intercambios internacionales y comparativa con otros mercados europeos. A continuación, se expone el punto más relevante de este proyecto, un análisis a fondo de la energía eólica en Navarra. Se realiza un estudio de estimación del potencial eólico en Navarra, diferentes compañías del sector en la región, que criterios se eligen para situar un parque, la localización de ellos en la Comunidad y un coste aproximado de un parque eólico. Además de contener un estudio del pasado eólico en la región y una estimación del potencial de la energía con visión de futuro. This document gives an overview of one of the first regions in the world to develop the wind energy industry at an industrial level, the Comunidad Foral of Navarra, located in northern Spain. This great development has been possible to the intense industrialization of the last decades and the multiplication of electrical devices. The TFG stars with a brief intro to wind energy together different physical concepts, types of wind turbines and their components, and a brief explanation of the connection between wind farms and the general grid. This is followed by another analysis to renewable energies in Spain with special emphasis on wind energy. Thirdly, the Iberian electricity market is analyzed through different markets (daily, intraday), international exchanges, and comparison with other European markets. The most important point of this project is an in-depth analysis of wind energy in Navarra. A study is carried out to estimate the wind potential as well as the different companies in the sector that are located in Navarra, which criteria are chosen to locate a park, the location of these in the Community, and an approximate cost of a wind park. It also contains a study of the region's wind power past and an estimate of the energy potential with a view to the future. En el ámbito de la ingeniería estructural, el diseño y cálculo de estructuras de acero se enfrenta a desafíos debido a la complejidad de su comportamiento. En este contexto, el avance en las herramientas de análisis y modelización permite una predicción más exacta de estas complejidades, posibilitando así el diseño de estructuras más eficientes y sostenibles a partir de herramientas y metodologías avanzadas de cálculo. No obstante, en el panorama actual, la aplicación real de estos avances en la ingeniería estructural sigue siendo un desafío, debido a su estado de desarrollo, limitada adopción por parte de la profesión y la falta de adaptación en las normativas existentes. El presente trabajo se enfoca en la comparación de dos metodologías de cálculo en el diseño de estructuras de acero: el método tradicional de cálculo basado en elementos (two-step method) y el método avanzado basado en sistemas (one-step method o advanced method). Utilizando el caso de estudio concreto de una estructura metálica aporticada, se analizan y comparan ambas metodologías en función de diversos criterios como la eficiencia material, el coste, la complejidad técnica, el tiempo de ejecución y la huella de carbono a partir de un robusto análisis multicriterio. A través de todos los escenarios contemplados en la comparativa, se concluye que el método one-step es más adecuado en términos de eficiencia, sostenibilidad e innovación. La metodología implementada incluye el dimensionamiento tradicional utilizando el software ConSteel, y el avanzado con ABAQUS. Cabe destacar que las conclusiones de este estudio son independientes de las herramientas de software específicas empleadas para cada metodología de cálculo, puesto que el trabajo se centra en comparar las metodologías de cálculo, y no las herramientas. In the field of structural engineering, the design and calculation of steel structures faces challenges due to the complexity of their behavior. In this context, advancements in analysis and modelling tools enable more accurate predictions of these complexities and, thus, enabling the design of more efficient and sustainable structures. This is accomplished through the application of advanced calculation tools and methodologies. However, in the current situation, the real-world application of these advances remains a challenge due to their developmental stage, limited adoption within the profession, as well as the lack of adaptation in existing regulations. This study focuses on comparing two calculation methodologies in the design of steel structures: the traditional element-based calculation method (two-step method) and the advanced system-based method (one-step method or advanced method). Using the specific case study of a framed steel structure, both methodologies are analyzed and compared. Key criteria considered include material efficiency, cost, technical complexity, execution time, and carbon footprint, all evaluated through a robust multicriteria analysis. Across all the scenarios considered in the comparison, it is concluded that the one-step method is more suitable in terms of efficiency, sustainability, and innovation. The methodology adopted in this research includes a conventional design process using ConSteel software, along with an advanced approach using ABAQUS. It is important to note that the outcomes of this study are not reliant on the specific software chosen for each calculation approach. The emphasis of this work lies in the comparative analysis of the calculation methodologies themselves, rather than the particular software tools used. En l'àmbit de l'enginyeria estructural, el disseny i càlcul d'estructures d'acer s'enfronta a reptes a causa de la complexitat del seu comportament. En aquest context, el progrés en les eines d'anàlisi i modelització possibilita una predicció més exacta d'aquestes complexitats, permetent així el disseny d'estructures més eficients i sostenibles a partir d’eines i metodologies avançades de càlcul. No obstant això, en el panorama actual, l'aplicació real d'aquests avanços en l'enginyeria estructural continua sent un repte, a causa del seu estat de desenvolupament, adopció limitada per part de la professió i la falta d’adaptació a les normatives existents. El present treball se centra en la comparació de dues metodologies de càlcul en el disseny d'estructures d'acer: el mètode tradicional de càlcul basat en elements (two-step method) i el mètode avançat basat en sistemes (one-step method o advanced method). Utilitzant el cas d'estudi concret d’una estructura porticada, s'analitzen i comparen ambdues metodologies en funció de diversos criteris com l'eficiència material, el cost, la complexitat tècnica, el temps d'execució i la petjada de carboni a partir d’una anàlisi multicriteri robusta. Mitjançant tots els escenaris contemplats en la comparativa, es conclou que el mètode one-step és més adequat en termes d'eficiència, sostenibilitat i innovació. La metodologia implementada inclou el dimensionament tradicional fent servir el software ConSteel, i el dimensionament avançat amb ABAQUS. És important ressaltar que les conclusions d'aquest estudi són independents de les eines de software específiques emprades per a cada metodologia de càlcul, donat que el treball se centra a comparar les metodologies de càlcul, i no les eines.

En el último siglo, con el desarrollo de las técnicas agrícolas tradicionales, se están ejerciendo presiones sobre determinados recursos, provocando que cada vez más personas tengan problemas de acceso a una alimentación segura. El futuro próximo va a estar caracterizado por una creciente población mundial y un éxodo a las ciudades que aumentarán dichas presiones, por lo que se están desarrollando nuevas técnicas para que el cultivo de hortalizas sea más sostenible. Las técnicas hidropónicas ofrecen una alternativa viable, ya que su uso supone un ahorro en las bases fundamentales de la agricultura tradicional (agua y suelo). En el presente trabajo se ha realizado una detallada descripción de los sistemas hidropónicos, para así poder efectuar una comparación en términos de sostenibilidad con las técnicas tradicionales. Tras comparar ambas técnicas, se puede afirmar que la hidroponía reduce el uso del agua hasta en un 99%, aumenta la relación planta/unidad de superficie, y tiene una producción igual o superior a la tradicional. Además, es más respetuosa con el medio, evitando el uso de pesticidas y reduciendo la contaminación de suelos y aguas subterráneas. In the last century, with the development of traditional agricultural techniques, we have been putting pressure on resources, causing more and more people to have problems accessing safe food. The near future is going to be determined by a growing world population and an exodus to the cities that increase the agricultural impact, so new techniques for growing vegetables that are more sustainable are developed. Hydroponic techniques offer a viable alternative, since their use represents savings in the fundamentals of traditional agriculture (water and soil). In this work, a detailed description of the hydroponic systems has been made in order to establish a relationship in terms of sustainability with traditional techniques. After comparing both techniques, it can be affirmed that hydroponics reduces water use by up to 99%, increases the plant / surface unit ratio, and has a production equal to or greater than the traditional one. La ciudad ha evolucionado rápidamente adoptando un modelo basado en el consumo de recursos, devorando la energía, el agua y los materiales y expulsando grandes cantidades de residuos. Ha invadido y destruido el entorno, corrompiendo los municipios colindantes, además de haber reducido la calidad de vida de los ciudadanos y contribuido al avance del cambio climático y a la expansión de la huella ecológica. No podemos eludir el reto de la responsabilidad de aportar una respuesta adecuada. Una respuesta que no es inmediata. Requiere un proceso de reflexión, de aproximación y de cambio progresivo. Uno de los principales retos actuales es pensar en nuevas estrategias que permitan que los modelos urbanos territoriales sean más compatibles con el medio ambiente. Los ecobarrios persiguen los principios de eficiencia, igualdad y variedad que se configuran en un desarrollo urbano. Tratan de hacer compatible una buena calidad de vida urbana con la disminución sustancial del impacto ambiental de nuestras ciudades y pueblo. [EN] From the Universities we have a privileged situation that allows us to bring technology closer to the SDGs. This proposal aims to bring students closer to SDG13, applying learning methodologies aimed at evaluating the consequences of climate change through satellite positioning techniques. The student, through his TFG, will implement a library of functions in Python language to retrieve the weekly solution for the positioning of several permanent GNSS stations from the service provided by NASA, and will evaluate the acceleration produced in recent years in the h component ( elevation or height) due to ice loss at stations near the poles. In this work, skills are developed in the management of products resulting from the constellations of positioning satellites, available to the public, and applied to the evaluation of the consequences of climate change. These skills are a very attractive element in the business environment and can be transferred to a multitude of applications. Our student will learn to analyze the effect caused by the melting of the poles on the tectonic plates. When the frozen mass disappears, its weight must be compensated by isostatic movements of the tectonic plates in the polar zones, causing the plates to rise in these zones. This experience allows us to know how the melting of the poles is affecting the different permanent GNSS stations near them in recent years through spatial geodesy and positioning techniques. Through this study it will be possible to see the trend of each of the coordinates of the permanent stations, especially the variations in height, as well as the speed of change of said coordinates, that is, it will be possible to verify if in recent years the process of ice loss over the study area as a consequence of climate change. Climate change globally affects the entire planet and has a negative impact on the economy and citizens in general. Goal 13 calls for urgent action to combat climate change and its consequences. This experience makes it possible to objectively assess, using geodetic variables, measurable consequences of climate change, and to quantify the acceleration process that is taking place. [ES] Este proyecto trabaja la meta 13.1 del ODS13, acción por el clima. Generando una herramienta que permitirá “fortalecer la resiliencia y la capacidad de adaptación a los riesgos relacionados con el clima y los desastres naturales en todos los países”. Para contribuir con este objetivo, se ha trabajado con la variación de coordenadas de estaciones permanentes pertenecientes al IGS. Estas coordenadas pertenecen a un ajuste armonizado de la serie temporal 1 de enero del año 1995 hasta el 1 de enero del año 2020. En la realización del estudio se emplea una herramienta de desarrollo propio; una aplicación informática creada al efecto que permitirá el procesamiento sistemático de un gran volumen de información obtenido de las estaciones permanentes. El desarrollo informático permitirá además crear una librería para el lenguaje Python que facilitará en un futuro a otros usuarios la obtención de información de cualquier estación permanente mundial en el lapso de tiempo deseado. Para la realización de este proyecto se ha seguido una metodología que consta de los siguientes puntos: • Descarga de datos • Análisis y tratamiento de la información • Obtención de resultados: mapas y gráficos • Creación de una clase (estructura informática de la información) de forma similar a la estructura de cualquier librería Python
