description Publicationkeyboard_double_arrow_right Article 2023Publisher:Elsevier BV Jawaher Alzahrani; Samaira Aziz; Maha Raoof Hamoudi; Shayma Hamza Sadon; Quynh Hoang Le; Sami Ullah Khan; Iftikhar Ahmad; With impressive thermal outcomes, the nanofluids present multidisciplinary applications in the cooling processes, thermal systems, extrusion processes, heat storage devices and many more. The aim of current research is to inspect thermal impact of Jeffrey fluid with tiny particles under the assumptions of variable thermal conductivity. The problem is supported with applications of chemical reaction, activation energy and magnetic force. For heat and mass transfer phenomenon, Cattaneo-Christov diffusion theories have been implemented. The formulated model is solved by using the homotopy analysis method (HAM) with excellent accuracy. The graphical analysis is performed with specified range of parameters like 0.2⩽H⩽0.8, 0.1⩽ϖ⩽1.7, 0.0⩽N⩽1.5, 0.0⩽Π⩽3.1, 0.3⩽γ⩽0.6, 0.6⩽Ψ⩽3.2, 0.5⩽Ω⩽2.0, 0.0⩽Σ⩽1.5, 0.2⩽Nt⩽1.7, 1.0⩽Pr⩽1.9, 0.5⩽Sc⩽1.4,0.3⩽β⩽1.5, 0.1⩽ε⩽1.0, 0.2⩽Nb⩽1.7. The assessment of flow parameters is graphically evaluated. It is observed that both velocity profiles periodically enhance for Deborah number while temperature, microorganisms and concentration distributions decelerate. The greater estimates of variable thermal conductivity and heat generation improve the temperature distribution while conflicting scenario ensures for thermic relaxation constant.

Kabeel; Z.M. Omara; Fadl A. Essa; The problem of freshwater shortage is increasing a day after day. Solar distillers are suitable devices to overcome this problem for remote areas and small families. However, these devices suffer from their low productivities. Here, two different modified designs for the distillers of rotating wick types were tested. One distiller contained a rotating wick belt with a path of “L” character shape (l-RWSS), and the other with a path of “LC” shape (LC-RWSS). In addition, the wick type was investigated for black jute and cotton wicks. Moreover, the effect of belt-rotation direction (clockwise and counterclockwise) on the still performance has been studied. The period of wick belt rotation was tested (ON = 5 min and OFF = zero, 10, 20, 30, 40, 50, and 60 min). Also, the impact of using graphene quantum dots nanofluid on the distiller performance was investigated. Experimental results obtained that the jute wick obtained more distillate than the cotton cloth. Furthermore, the productivity of LC-RWSS with counterclockwise movement of wick belt was always larger than that with clockwise direction under all different OFF times. Also, the LC-RWSS (jute wick-counterclockwise-0.1 rpm) increased the freshwater productivity by about 17 % over l-RWSS. Besides, the LC-RWSS provided higher accumulated daily productivity than l-RWSS by 19 % and 17 % with and without nanofluid, respectively. Also, the cost of freshwater obtained is 0.018 and 0.021 $/L for LC-RWSS with and without nanofluids, respectively.

Though there are many numerical and analytical methods to solve such problems, this paper suggests a simple but effective way to the third-order ordinary differential equations by the Taylor series technology. The governing equation is differentiated to obtain high order derivatives of a certain point, and solution is expanded into a Taylor series of the point, the boundary conditions are then used to identify the unknowns involved in the approximate solution. An example is given to elucidate the solution process, the maximal error is less 2%, and its accuracy can be further improved if a higher order series is solved. The approximate solution is compared with that by the variational iteration method, showing the present method is simpler and more straightforward. The comparison with the numerical solution culminates in its reliability and effectiveness. The method can be extended to fractal calculus.

The SFS is a meta-heuristic algorithm inspired by the fractal theory for solving optimization problems. For dealing with the formulated DNR problem, the loss sensitivity factor (LSF) was first used to determine the optimal location of DGs and SFS was then applied to find the best size of DGs and configuration of the network. The proposed SFS algorithm was tested on 33-bus, 69-bus, 84-bus, 119-bus, and 136-bus distribution networks with seven different scenarios. The results obtained from SFS were compared to those from other methods in the literature and the result comparison has showed that SFS obtained better solutions than other methods. Therefore, SFS can be a very favorable method for solving the reconfiguration problem considering the participation of DGs in distribution networks.

Murthy; Sateesh Sakhamuri; In this paper, we consider the impact of an alternating magnetic field on axisymmetric non-Newtonian nanofluid flow and nanoparticle (magnetite or iron-platinum) transport through a blood vessel and surrounding tissue during hyperthermia therapy. The geometrical domain of the problem is divided into four regions; the blood vessel region, cancerous and non-cancerous muscle or prostate regions, and a fat region. Each of the tissue regions is considered to be a saturated porous material that admits fluid flow, which is given by the Darcy-Brinkman-Forchheimer model. The Quemada model is used to describe the non-Newtonian nature of blood in each region. The resulting unsteady coupled governing equations and corresponding boundary and initial conditions are numerically solved by using the finite element method with Taylor-Hood elements. A physically realistic range of parameter values are used when numerically solving the governing equations. Using the obtained numerical solution, the effects of magnetic field amplitude and oscillation frequency, inlet nanoparticle solid volume fraction and nanoparticle diameter on nanofluid velocity, temperature, pressure and nanoparticle distribution are examined. The results determined that more heat generation is achieved with a larger volume fraction of injected nanoparticles and higher magnetic field amplitude. Also, heat generation is maximized by using nanoparticles with a diameter near 15nm and a magnetic field oscillation frequency near 4×104s-1. Thus, the present study provides an improved understanding of the factors influencing the effectiveness of intravenous magnetic hyperthermia cancer therapy in muscle and prostate tissues. The heat generated by the considered nanoparticles under an alternating magnetic field can be more accurately predicted and controlled using the two-phase non-Newtonian model of fluid flow and convective heat and mass transfer that is investigated herein.

Thermal conductivity of the medium is assumed to be a linear function of radius. The Brinkman–Forchheimer-extended Darcy and local thermal equilibrium models are applied for momentum and energy equations. Analytical expressions for the temperature profile and Nusselt number as functions of porous medium shape parameter and thermal conductivity variation parameter are introduced. An analytical expression of the Nusselt number based on a variable conductivity with radius for the extended model of Darcy–Brinkman–Forchheimer has not been previously proposed, and the present study aims at filling this gap. The effects of porous media shape parameter (s), Forchheimer number (F) and linear parameter of conductivity (ɛ) on the Nusselt number and temperature profile are discussed. Results show that the Nusselt number increases with a linear increase in the thermal conductivity of the medium.

Ravi; Shaik Karimulla; In the electrical power system optimal power flow is a solution for power management with multi variable equality and inequality constraints. Different algorithms were used to solve the optimum power flow (OPF). This paper proposes the optimal power flow using efficient and reliable optimization technique of enhanced sine cosine algorithm (ESCA). The proposed algorithm used to solve the multi objective power flow function problems such as generating cost, losses, emission of power plant and to improve the voltage stability. In this IEEE standard 30 bus system with four different multi objective functions have been tested and results obtained by Enhanced sine cosine algorithm are compared with other evolutionary algorithms. The results show that ESCA gives better results than other techniques in terms of convergence speed and global optimal solutions.

It is assumed that reconstruction of these buildings alone is not sufficient if the spatial value is not reinforced. The degree of the space strategy is adopted as an indicator of the spatial value, and the space syntax methodology is adopted to measure the degree of the strategy of the sites of religious buildings. The study adopts the application of Axwomen within the Arc 3.3 program to measure the degree of space strategy and the spatial value of religious buildings. The study arrives to the identification of buildings that need to raise the spatial value of their locations to achieve their integration within the fabric based on the characteristics of the local spatial organization, which will lead to the achievement of facilitating global integration.

The governing PDEs of the flow are transmuted as ODEs by applicable similarity conversions and resolved using R-K and Newton’s approaches. The results are explored for different nanoparticle shapes (spherical, cylindrical, and laminar) and originate that the energy transport efficiency is advanced in spherical shaped ferrous particles when compared to tube and laminar shaped particles. The Deborah number and unsteadiness parameter has the power to regulate the Nusselt number.

description Publicationkeyboard_double_arrow_right Article 2023Publisher:Elsevier BV Jawaher Alzahrani; Samaira Aziz; Maha Raoof Hamoudi; Shayma Hamza Sadon; Quynh Hoang Le; Sami Ullah Khan; Iftikhar Ahmad; With impressive thermal outcomes, the nanofluids present multidisciplinary applications in the cooling processes, thermal systems, extrusion processes, heat storage devices and many more.

The Deborah number and unsteadiness parameter has the power to regulate the Nusselt number.
