Today's energy production and increasing energy consumption which is mostly based on fossil fuels does not demonstrate a sustainable structure for the development of the world. Transforming the energy policies to a sustainable structure requires an increased share of renewable energy sources within total energy consumption. To that end, governments have been developing large investment plans considering environmental criteria. Within the framework of alternative financing quest of the 1980s, public-private partnership (PPP) models have been extensively used in energy production across the world, especially as a solution for financial problems. Debates on potential resources to be used for meeting the increasing energy demand take on a new significance in Turkey as well. In this context, the purpose of our study is to recommend future policies with a view to maximizing the utilization of renewable resources.

Bu sebeple ekolojik iktisat altında birçok farklı yöntemi benimseyen yaklaşım kullanılmaktadır. Bu durum ekolojik iktisat yöntemi olarak belli başlı yöntemlerin ortaya çıkmasını engellese de, ekolojik iktisat bu sayede var olmaktadır. Bu çalışmada ana akım iktisat öğretisinden etkilenen ekolojik iktisat yaklaşımları ele alınmakta; bu yaklaşımların kalkınma, sürdürülebilirlik, teknolojinin sürdürülebilirlikteki yeri ve doğa ile ilişkileri incelenmektedir. Ecological economics is able to cooperate with many different areas as a way of dealing with phenomena or able to get help from the methods of other branches of science. Therefore, the many approaches using different methods are welcomed in ecological economics. Although this situation prevents the emergence of certain methods in ecological economics, ecological economics exists in this way. In this study, ecological economics approaches which are affected by mainstream economics are discussed. The relations between these approaches and development, sustainability, importance of technology in sustainability and nature are examined. Çevre dostu yeşil uygulamaların organizasyonlarda hayata geçirilebilmesi için çalışanların bilinçlendirilmesi ve geliştirilmesi noktasında YİKY’ye önemli roller düşmektedir. Bu çalışmanın amacı, Kamu bankaları üzerinden YİKY uygulamalarının durumunu araştırmaktır. Araştırma iki aşamada gerçekleştirilmiştir. İlk aşamada YİKY ile ilgili literatür taraması yapılmış ve uygulamaları hakkında bilgiler toplanmıştır. İkinci aşamada, kamu bankalarının yayınlamış oldukları faaliyet ve sürdürülebilirlik raporlarından bilgiler derlenmiştir. Araştırma sonucunda, işe alım, performans değerlendirme, eğitim ve geliştirme gibi temel insan kaynakları faaliyetlerinin yeşil insan kaynakları uygulamalarına uyumu üzerinden durulmuştur. Bulgular, yeşil insan kaynakları uygulamalarının sürdürülebilirlik yönetimi çerçevesinde değerlendirildiğini ortaya koymuştur. Yeşil insan kaynakları uygulamalarının iş ortamında yaygınlaştırılması ve çalışanlar tarafından benimsenmesi için kurum yöneticileri tarafından desteklenmesi yerinde olacaktır. Bu çalışma yeşil insan kaynaklarına yönelik saha çalışmalarının zenginleşmesine yönelik önemli bir katkı sunmayı hedeflemektedir. Çevreye uyumlu iş yeri ortamlarının oluşturulmasında İKY’nin rolünün ortaya koymaya yönelik bu tarz çalışmaların, iklim değişikliği ile mücadele yöntemlerinin çeşitlendirilmesini ve güçlendirilmesini sağlayacağı söylenebilir. Green Human Resources Management (YİKY) is considered as a sub-title of sustainable Human Resources Management (HRM). YİKY plays an important role in raising and developing the awareness of employees in order to implement eco-friendly green practices in organizations. The aim of this study is to investigate the status of YİKY practices over public banks. The research was carried out in two stages. In the first stage, a literature review was made about YİKY and information about its applications was collected. In the second stage, information was compiled from the activity and sustainability reports published by public banks. As a result of the research, the compatibility of basic human resources activities such as recruitment, performance evaluation, training and development with green human resources practices has been emphasized. Findings revealed that green human resources practices are evaluated within the framework of sustainability management. It would be appropriate to be supported by corporate managers in order to disseminate green human resources practices in the business environment and to be adopted by employees. This study aims to make an important contribution to the enrichment of field studies on green human resources. It can be said that such studies to reveal the role of Human Resources Management in the creation of environmentally compatible workplace environments will ensure the diversification and strengthening of the methods of combating climate change.

Today, providing the highest contribution to national welfare by utilizing natural energy resources in the most efficient and environmentally-conscious manner is one of the biggest targets. In this framework, the utilization of domestic renewable energy sources is crucial importance for Turkey to decrease its energy dependence on foreign supplies. Turkey has determined the target year as 2023, the 100th anniversary of the foundation of Republic, in terms of both energy and economic indicators. The share of renewable energy sources in electricity generation is at least % 30 and the planned capacity is 20 GW of installed wind power in 2023. For reaching these targets, it is important to be operated the electricity market in a proper way in terms of the electricity supply-demand balance, low costs and investments. The electricity generation from wind has a variable profile and can cause negative effects in the electricity market. It is important to offer the energy production forecasts of wind power plants to the electricity market for reducing these effects. The forecasts with high accuracy is significant for both plant owner and transmission operator. In this study, the analysis of day ahead market (GOP) which shows the importance of wind power forecast in terms of market revenue is conducted in comparison with renewable energy support mechanism (YEKDEM).

The amount of oxygen in air has been changed and the effect of oxygen amount has been numerically investigated on combustion and emission parameters of coke oven and generator gases in a model combustor. A CFD code has been used to perform numerical analysis. Combustion has been modelled by using the PDF/Mixture Fraction combustion model, standard k-epsilon turbulence model as turbulence model and P-1 radiation model as radiation model. The amount of oxygen in the air has been changed from 21 % to 30 %, 40 % and 50 %. According to the predictions, it can be readily said that the flame temperatures of the coke oven and the town gases increases under oxygen-enriched combustion conditions. Therefore, it is demonstrated that the combustion performances of the coke oven and town gases have been improved under oxygen-enriched combustion. When the results are evaluated in terms of emissions, it has been determined that CO emissions decrease while CO2 emissions increase as the air is enriched with oxygen. It has been also concluded that NOX emission levels increase under oxygen-enriched combustion conditions due to increases in flame temperatures of the coke oven and the town gases. The maximum flame temperature level has been predicted as of almost 2200 K under % O2-included air conditions just as the maximum NOX level has been also predicted as about 1500 ppm under the same conditions.

Aim: The aim of this study is to measure the knowledge level of the health personnel working in hospitals about waste batteries. Another aim of our study is to raise awareness on the management of waste batteries in hospitals based on scientific foundations. Materials-Methods: Within the scope of our study, a survey was prepared to measure 7 demographic and 17 knowledge levels, and the waste battery knowledge levels were tried to be measured. Results: According to the findings obtained; It was determined that 69.2% of the participants recognized the waste battery symbol. While 69.2% of the participants could recognize the waste battery symbol, the second most answered option was the recycling symbol. In this direction, it was concluded that the waste battery symbol and the recycling symbol are often confused. It was determined that the rate of recognizing the waste battery symbol was highest in nurses and midwives (87.5%). Other personnel were less familiar with the waste battery symbol (57.5%). Conclusions: It is seen that there is awareness about waste battery management in hospitals, but it is thought that the level of awareness is not sufficient, it varies from unit to unit, and financial losses may occur if effective and efficient management is not carried out.

Free piston Stirling engines are structurally simple thermodynamic systems converting the heat into the reciprocating translational motion. In free piston Stirling engines mechanical and gas springs are used instead of the flywheels used in kinematic engines. In free piston Stirling engines one of the most important issues is keeping the amplitude of reciprocal motion of the displacer and piston under control. For the design of free piston Stirling engines, because of their structure, the dynamic and thermodynamic analyses are simultaneously conducted. The design and performance predictions of the engine is conducted via a dynamic-thermodynamic analysis including the masses of the dynamic components, constant of springs used in the system, hydrodynamic frictions, pressure forces exerting on the piston and displacer and damping forces caused by work transfer. In this study, via preparing a dynamic and thermodynamic simulation program, the analysis of a cold end connected gamma type free piston Stirling engine that will work in the temperature range of 350-700 K, have been performed. The working limits of the engine were predicted by means of examining the variation of power with the hot end temperature, spring constants of displacer and piston springs, rod diameter of the displacer, the working gas mass in the working volume of the engine and the damping constant due to the work transfer.
