The research deals with the issue of slums, urban sprawl on agriculture land and its impact on the city of Baghdad. This topic needs close attention because it has become a problem facing the city of Baghdad through recruiting agricultural lands and converting them to residential homes in addition to the transgression on the state lands and building abuses. This research deals with the causes of slums, irregular urban sprawl and risks of excesses on land uses of land in Baghdad. In this research, we try to know the extent to which these problems have affected the city of Baghdad. The research methodology based on the descriptive methodology to clarify the factors affecting urban sprawl at the expense of agricultural land, using studies in government and service institutions and images from satellites to clarify the size of urban sprawl over periods after the 2003 war. Finally, a conclusion and future solutions were set to solve these problems.

Based on the children’s road traffic injuries analysis and field pedestrians’ behavior observations during the roadway crossing, in order to reduce accidents among pedestrians-children, to create safe approaches to educational institutions is proposed.

The object of the study is the water supply and sanitation system of an industrial enterprise. Currently, many enterprises do not use the treated industrial waste water in the water supply cycle. Therefore, the use of treated wastewater is of practical importance. The scheme of thermal treatment of waste water for obtaining pure condensate by evaporation is proposed. The main results of the study are the technical solution for the development of the enterprise's wastewater treatment complex. Pure condensate is obtained in an instant boiling evaporator. The research method is based on the calculation of energy costs in wastewater treatment for different types of waste water. The results of the study allow us to determine the optimal set of energy equipment for obtaining pure condensate and its further use. The specific practical significance lies in the development of a technical solution that helps the treatment of wastewater and the reduction of emissions into the water basin.

The development of the modern technologies for passenger transportation and the integration of rail routes with other modes of transport using logistics contributes to the increasing of the mobility of the people and the increasing of the economic efficiency in general. The market of the passenger transportation by rail on the North Caucasian railway is analyzed. Multimodal passenger transportation is one of the most effective tools for increasing the mobility of the people. Social factors are determined, the fundamental idea of the organizing of the multimodal passenger transportation using a mobile application is proposed, this allows to determine the optimal route for a passenger to travel to all specified points. Using research methods within the framework of a comparative and logical analysis, variants of digitalization of the multimodal passenger transportation services by the world's leading railway operators are considered. As a result, it was detected that a promising direction of multimodal transportation is the combination of the train routes not only with the regional bus routes, but also with the integration of the urban transport through the digitalization of services and the development of the customer services. The organization of the passenger service in multimodal transportations at transport hubs and options for a convenient and rational orientation of movement for passengers are considered.

The paper analyzes the system at higher education in the context of achieving the goals of sustainable development of modern society. From the point of view of a systemic approach, an attempt is made to identify and classify the factors that can measure the contribution of higher education institutions to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals at the regional level. These factors are correlated with the corresponding tasks, as well as possible problems that are posed by the present unstable situation, and hinder sustainable development of the society. The research uses system-wide methods of analysis and synthesis, generalization and analogy. The analysis of the tasks and problems presented in the article allows us to identify and investigate the cause-effect relationships between the factors that determine the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals and the complexities that accompany this process, and also contributes to the holistic perception of the concept of sustainable development by university staff members and students. The results of the study can be used in event planning within the framework of implementing the strategies drawn up by universities in the context of the sustainable development paradigm.

At the present stage of the transition to sustainable development, when the share of a green economy in technologically advanced countries reaches one third of GDP, overcoming the structural crisis of the Russia is inseparable from reducing the technological gap and structural imbalances in the economy. These imbalances alienate Russia from ecologically and technologically advanced countries. Therefore, it is highly relevant to develop a methodology for assessing the structural convergence of the economy in the context of the transition to sustainable development, accompanied in developed countries by a new type of structural shift caused by the expansion of convergent technologies, the emergence of new principles of sectoral genesis and the formation of a green economy. The deepening of the divergent nature of Russian economy development was the result of a series of negative structural shifts that consolidated the dominance of extractive and resource-intensive industries, which threaten the final loss of technological identity, consolidation of the recessive trend and a lag in the transition to sustainable development. Therefore, today it is extremely important to formulate a methodology for assessing the structural convergence of Russian economy with technological and ecologically advanced countries, taking into account both quantitative and qualitative aspects.

As a result of the study of three sites (two city parks and a special area for walking dogs) on the contamination of Toxocara sp. eggs it was found that 28.0±2.3% of the studied fecal samples from the territories of the Kirov Park were infected with Тохосаrа eggs, 21.0±3.6% of fecal samples from the territory of the Park of the 50th anniversary of the Komsomol and 7.0±0.4% of fecal samples were infected with Тохосаrа eggs selected at a specially equipped dog walking area in the Metrograd residential complex in Kirov. The average rate of dogs which were infected by Toxocara (EI) was 18.7±6.2%. The average rate of contamination of soil by eggs Тохосаrа in the study sites amounted to 34.6%. Contamination of soil samples with eggs of Toxocara sp. in parks was 45.6% and 45.8%, respectively, and in the dog walking area it was 12%. The largest number of dogs, including stray ones, were registered in the parks: 74.8±7.1 and 62.8±7.0 individuals, respectively. There were no stray individuals in the dog walking area, and there were 21.6±1.0 individuals over the entire study period.

The paper represents the analysis, which has helped to establish the usage of gas hydrate technologies in the methane conversion. This gas could be obtained in different ways. Possibilities and sources for the gas obtaining have been demonstrated. Use of other environmentally friendly sources to support operation in such systems in terms of joint energy complex has been considered. The necessary kinetic connections to provide operational sustainability of all the constituents have been given. The approach helps evaluate quantitatively the priority of its physicochemical transformations to obtain gas hydrates artificially. It is possible to transport methane at considerable distances when it is solidified. Actually, in this case there is no necessity to build costly compressor stations and pipelines for its transportation to consumers. The approach is extremely important for mining regions as it helps prolong the operating period and working out of the abandoned and off-balance coal reserves. In this case, it is proposed to apply special gasification technologies tending to maximum methane recovery. The proposed solutions give the possibility to define the trends of our further research. They will be highlighted in the following authors’ studies.
